FedEx Freight | Hamlin wins!

Denny wins for the first time in 50 races, and a great race it was. Go FEDEX No. 11. 5th in points.

Well, that's nice I suppose, but in the big meeting to propose cost-cutting measures like trashing the 401K, getting rid of raises, getting rid of bonus's, and putting employee's in the unemployment line, I wonder if cancelling sponsorship of a race car ever came up in the conversation?

Naw, probably not. That's much too important.

I think if it wasn't for things like great advertising (Nascar and others) we might be taking bigger hits to benefits.

We had a tread about that last year, and studies done on all advertising dollars, the return in NASCAR was higher than golf, tennis, and football. End of story!

I'm glad you shared that. It should definately make the guy's at our barn who were eliminated and are about to lose their house feel MUCH better. Thanks again.

Yes he won but it's too bad that he had to wreck 2 other cars because of his careless driving. At least it was only 2, the UPS car took out 5 or 6 with his careless move.

Do you really think in your wildest imagination that if we didn't sponsor that car that it would change anything this company has done? All company's have an advertisement budget. How they spend it is how they deem it possible to get the best return on their investment. No advertising, no business.

Today was a perfect example of dollars spent. The FEDEX car received by far the most "face" time on TV, and was constantly mentioned from green to checkered by the commentators. It was followed by the Lowe's car, and the Target. Brown got 1 mention, and R&L zero. People do remember. Redundancy is the key. :shift:

Thanks for the link, Jeff. I knew it was discussed, just not sure where. Guess thats why your the owner.
there's a whole lot smarter people than me on this website, I am just a dumb ol country boy

Do you say coke, or soda, or soft drink .... I think most people my age say coke. that got pounded into me at a early age by ads .... redundancy ... except for the uncola nut guy ... 7-up, I thought that was a cool ad.

Kinda like the term Band-Aid everybody says it but it's a brand name for adhesive bandage.

Just like Truckingboards will be a brand name for cool website some day :)
