Yellow | What about newpenn

THIS IS WHAT I HEARD (DOUBLE CHECK MY NUMBERS)

New Penn

NO 726
YES 463

LOCAL 710 OFFICE VOTED DOWN 57N 48Y
LOCAL 710 MECHANICS 10N 4YES
710 DOCK 471N 321Y

I wonder if that puts New Penn on the chopping block? Can't say I blame them for voting no in such high cost areas.

I didn't say shut down New Penn. I just asked the question. Nothing surprises me though. I wonder what the consequences are for standing up for yourself?

The New Penn numbers are correct ...I am heading to the airport and will give a complete report when I get home tonight....KK

I could be wrong here, but I think NEW PENN, is a me too contract, whatever the larger unit YRCW does they will abid with also. Trust me, I have been wrong before. But that is the way I read it. Lets wait and see. I still do not think they would shut them down. Last minute bad thought, they could merge them with yrc though. NAW!!!

They can do anything they want. We have already seen evidence of it.

With the large unit of YRC and Holland Teamsters approving, while New Penn and big Chicago locals said No, the International union will have to decide how to handle the situation. Will they “vote till you get it right” in the rejecting units? Or will New Penn Teamsters retain their existing contract terms? Hoffa’s press release announcing ratification said those issues will be dealt with on a “local by local basis.”

dont be so sure. old zollars will do anything to make himself look good, including shutting down new penn. can you see all the other teamsters sacrificing and not np, all just 1 big happy yrc family. all the money into 1 pot im sure good luck

this was not an agreement the emploess made.the me too was agreed to ( by MANAGEMENT) to go along with the agreements reached by the negotiating committees. we the employees of new penn still had to ratify the contract. i don't think you could just force an agreement without a vote. this is the way i see it. why else would we even get a vote?

How do you figure we at new penn didn't sacrifice? When all this bullshit started last year we were a profitable company. All of our terminals and equipment were bought and paid for. And your screwed up management did a number on that. So how the hell do you figure we didn't sacrifice? You are dragging us down with you. We are still profitable in these economic conditions!!!!!!!!!!! How about you???????????:ranting2::ranting2:

Unfortunately, we that have worked at Yellow for awhile, esp the ones that worked at companies put out of business by Yellow (Preston), have seen how they operate. And I wouldn't for a minute doubt that they would close New Penn in a heartbeat, & can't you just see them come up with a COO to close down the Chicago terminals, & move the work to other locals nearby? Cause that's the kind of people Zollars & his bean counters are.
