Reddaway | Could there be some terminals closing ?

Broken Wrench, when you work in a yard like I do where 60% of the drivers have been layed off. Where the last guy to be layed off had 12 years with the company, you start to notice the difference. If you want, I will give you the phone number of a Compton driver who has only 6 years with the company, who works every night. He would be glad to tell you how different it is in a Teamster yard. And dont forget the new Non Union yard policy, of after 4 months on lay off, you are permitently terminated, which means considering the time of year, nobody layed off in my yard is ever coming back. Yet in Compton or any other Teamster yard you will be called back by hire date up to 2 years. And also dont forget the 15% pay cut that your buddy "Pebble" gave you as a reward for standing up againest the "Contract". Some how, in your mind, you won. You guys always say the same thing, but cant back it up with any facts. I did not post that Teamster yards did not have any lay offs, just that they were few in comparsion to Non Union yards, and that lay offs for Teamsters are done in a fair way based on freight levels and only freight levels. Dont worry... "Pebble and Obama Love You"

hope you called that number so he could tell you that those guys who were union and layed off over two years ago still aren't called back, but I'm sure its comforting for you to know that they can still be. And that is FACT!!! I know personally good long time guys who were never called back. But thats neither here nor there, I know there are some benefits to being in union there are also cons. I just don't like when people come on and talk it up and that too bad were not union or we would be better off. When that is simply and truthfully is NOT the TRUTH!!! This Company already demonstraed that. And if you didn't see it WOW HOOFA has really put one over on You but don't worry he's got your back.

Funny how when people are proved wrong they get mad and the local day time dispatcher "N" got let go is because they are so busy at LAX right ?

UH? Where have you been? There have been Layoffs in EVERY TREMINAL since Texas shut down and when the Layoffs happen DS and Co. ask for names from Each terminal not just Non union. I hear and see Union Terminals hit just as hard or harder than non union treminals. Are you running the same line run each night still? Or are you doing whats left over like the guys I see that haven't been going down west into arizona for years but now have to because there no. Cal runs have been Cut. WAKE UP and SMELL the COFFEE Man!!! We are a team and in this together. And if a Promise or Guarantee that you will get you job back inside 2 years or other empty Guarantees like medical bens. Ask the Guys that Have not come back since the First Layoff TWO years ago That aren't back still!! are doing with that!!!???? WOW!!! Come on Man.

Wow NOW we are a team !!:biglaugh: I'llremember that when i fight for my pay and you CRY ME TOO !!! ::shit::

Again the economy is bad, there have been layoffs at every terminal. However the numbers and the facts are just that. At my terminal you must have 13 years to still have a job. At Compton only 6 years. You will find similar numbers when you compare Sac and Oakland. I know some how in your mind, you still win, but Teamsters make 15% more than you do, and they are in no hurry to give that up. ... Facts are difficult but Obama Still Loves You

I'm still looking for a Phoenix line driver too. were they not and aren't they still union????? I know at least 50 of them had more time then I did and I have 18 yrs! but here I am still going and 72 of them not!!!! Guess anybody can make kool aid. and anybody can still take a drink. But wait, they still can come back as long as its with in two years right!!??? Lost some good friends in that mess and The big U didn't help them 1 bit. like i said when it comes down to it ALL should do what they can to help the company survive. Because in the end when its gone we ALL Are out!!!.

let's see how did the vote go from NEW PENN ? i think they caved as you put it. just like the men 2800 miles west had to. think before you bragg

Good Intel.

After Texas shut down, there have been very few Union layoffs. My non Union yard has layed off 60 % of all its drivers in the last 2 years. 30 minutes away in Compton a Union yard, has layed off very few, and brought most of them back. The same goes for most areas where Non Union and Union yards are close to each other, for example; Oakland has layed off very few, but Sac has been hit hard. Guess which one is Teamsters? Guess which yards terminate you permently after 4 months with No Recall, and which ones have to hire you back up to 2 years if the work levels improve ? Guess which yards guarantee your Health care benefits if you work 100 hours a month even as a casual ?

What needs to happen is Redding ca. go union, that would allow Sacramento terminal to lay off the remaining line drivers! And then SAC-515 would be making money again! Line drivers from other barns can move SACRAMENTO'S freight! Its a no-brainer............................:shift:

I'd vote for that one.

"And then sac would make money again" O.K how does that work? do union drivers go out and get new accounts... Nope. I got a union barn 48 miles from mine .I KNOW what you guys do or dont do. So you can just stop with the praises, we get it,your a uinon lover and all is good. This isn't about union vs non-union anyway. We both work for REDDAWAY,By the way,IF you voted no for the pay cut, tell me how does it feel to be TOLD you will still take a 15% cut anyway,Looks your just like me......

ITS ABOUT LOGISTICS! IF OTHER BARNS MOVE SACS FREIGHT SAC GETS TO KEEP MORE OF THE CASH. THAT KEEPS THE O.R. DOWN. NOW WHEN THE COMPANY STARTS MAKING YOU PAY FOR YOUR MEDICAL YOU WILL CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT SIGNING THAT U-CARD! GOOD LUCK, I HOPE THEY KEEP YOUR BARN OPEN! LOL:biglaugh::biglaugh:
