Yellow | Where Did The Money Go?

Cut them some slack Flash. Its not their fault. Its because we got no freight..

Don't ask me to explain, I can't, but I'm sure the Peaches and Cream Gang can.
I was under the impression that if we were financially desperate enough, as a company, to need pay concessions......we would also see more efficiency in our operations. I know the ::shit:: that I witness everyday isn't very impressive. Some of the wizards act like they don't have a dime invested. I would just like to see my thousands of dollars worth of give backs used properly. Sometimes is looks like our money has just given them more room to expand their stupidity.:order:

I remember listening to two road drivers from big r talking on cb on interstate..one was goin to the same term with an empty set that the other driver left with an empty set. And that was yrs ago. Road drivers get itchy hangin around. Don't sweat the small $hit :biglaugh::biglaugh:
That was more than a common occurrence. It was a weekly deal out of 120 those orders were by our famous Duke!
He just liked to see numbers on his computer screen going down throad. Plus utilize driver time. Can't put those drivers to bed on only a mini you know!

Smallshit adds up to bigshit!!:ranting2:

Good point! Some people think that these things are just small issues, and don't really matter much. I disagree. All of these little things add up to big losses of money. The incompetent people dispatching like this need a :nutkick: But, even after all of the concessions.....it's just business as usual for these fools.

ya, it does. It cost them millions to ship free astrays. That's nothing to sneeze at. Whose fault is that? :whistling:

We all know its the union workforce thats the reason YRC sucks. :ranting2: Damn Joe does management ever screwup in your opinion?

PS free astray don't cost nothing, it rides free with all the damaged freight!

Why is the union not bringing this info out and telling the board of directors about it? CDO has never worked and as far as I can tell it never will. I am sure you are just as frustrated about this as me.

CDO could work. The problem is too many chiefs and not enough indians. CDO & the Relays is too much. Should be just one or the other. Another example of redundancy or layers in this company. Just like having management layers (TM, District, Division then corporate). What the hell do we need district and division levels between the Tm and corporate. And since I'm on my soapbox, why wont they tell us if our terminal is profitable or not? With Rdwy we knew every month where we stood as far as profitability. I personally think it should still be that way and the TM should be told to make it profitable or they will find someone who will. period. To heck with customers per hour. that doesnt mean profit. Sure its a measurment of productivity and has its place but they are acting like its the be all end all and the companies future is riding on that number alone. WTF!

yeah, but shouldn't the government forecasts these things better, i mean isn't the government setting people up for disaster if they know people cannot afford to pay such things back, should the government have stepped in and say so and so only make minimum wage how is so and so going to pay back over 250,000 in debts and live comfortably

You need to review a copy of the "Communist Manifesto".
All the answers are there for ya

Mabey if Jim Hoffa and Tyson Johnson cut another deal with Bill Zollars we could save YRC. We will give up our health and welfare and not get any compansation AT ALL. Just maybe come on guys and gals we can do this.

There is a big problem with CDO and middle management. They have been dispatching in real time and not looking into what's coming down in the next 8 hours. I thought that they didn't know what was coming around in the next shift, so I started to ask simple questions like are they going to have freight for terminal XXX or are they going to send me home.
The dispatcher knows what's going to happen but they are afraid to confront CDO in fear of repercussions. I say, split the country into 4 sections have the four sections of the country have there own CDO's and let the main break bulks dispatch their own freight. This way they would have a handle on the main terminals and end of the line terminals and would be able to control some of the mistakes being made by the morons on top.
(P.S.) Get someone that knows something about trucking instead of health care and photography to run a trucking company. We have enough bean counters

Yellow this yellow that

NOTE: It was yellow freight that has time AND again screwed up GREAT freight lines...stupid is stupid!... and that goes for disabled union stewards too!...
YRC Dallas (509) is ROADWAY Management and is at the top of the incompetent List. Yellow may have purchased Roadway but BIG R is the BIG J (JOKE) in Dallas! Who is running the show at your Barn "Y" or "R" ?

Welcome to the YRC shell game. The RDWY folks are not accustomed to the smoke and mirrors. Did you ever wonder why the Yellow upper management are all accountants? These scum bags do not care about customer service or anything else for that matter as long as they get to a number. Why do you think we have been bleeding like this for so long? The different departments in a terminal competing against one another is detrimental to the stability and success of the company. We have 5 different companies under 1 roof at my barn. Office, dock, city, linehaul, and the shop. They all try to pass it off to the other department. I have never in my life seen a bigger team of misfits assembled. Any one with an idea or an opinion was shown the door here. They kept all the boot lickers and yes men. Huge mistake as they let some very good people go. This company will not succeed with the present upper management. I feel there are some big changes on the horizon. I can only hope for you rdwydick that you fly under the radar. It is quite obvious that you care. Don't let them see your weakness or they will can your *** too.

I might be wrong and this sounds a little strange but I think they can wright off miles for moving equipment on taxes,I have heard that but I dont know how true it is.

It is amazing to me how much you all complain... one person said it right... empties pay you just as much as full trailers. The obvious answer to this issue is not in CDO or local dispatch... it is plain as day, yet if it happens, you would be the first people to complain.

If freight levels are down.... and say 30% of runs are still pulling empties... the obvious solution is... lay off 30% more. Any company would conitnue to make cuts and layoffs until their staff reaches demand... it is basic free market principles.

Don't cut your own throats just for the sake of complaining.
