CEO says UPS might make some acquisitions
.....will focus on buying assets that will help its freight forwarding and supply chain operations while expanding its capacity.....
UPS’s largest recent deal was the 2005 purchase of Overnite Corp. for $1.25 billion in cash to expand its freight unit. Overnite is a so-called less-than-truckload carrier, hauling goods from more than one customer in the same trailer.
That’s not an area where UPS is looking for more acquisitions, said Davis, who was at the New York Stock Exchange to mark the 10th anniversary of the company’s initial public offering.
“We’re happy with the network we’ve got,” he said.
UPS may buy Glen Moore and have a larger in house nonunion carrier.
UPS historically does not like operating nonunion anyhting. They love the union.......we've been over this before.
They practically handed the union to Overnite aka UPS Freight.
Well they sure love running nonunion drivers OTR.
Well look at the old overnight trailers with the ups tractors that looks like crap too . Its all about money they will buy a company if it fits their needs.Sounds more like buying property rather than actual companies why not get our division squarely under the UPS banner meaning everything is fully branded before purchasing another company. Would look stupid driving down the. Road with a motor cargo truck, overnite trailer, ups dolley, and a usf tralier. How about that circus. My moneys on assets for the cartige division or the truckload they seem to be fully integrated already haven't seen any of them rolling around with circus equipment.
UPS is not looking at anything in the United States. .............Asia & China
