FedEx Freight | Snowed ... again

This winter is bad....... coldest in 40 years.... record...... here in the middle part of the country.... Bad part is our IDIOT state doesn't do hardly anything on the roads..... But hey,,,, knock on wood,,, no ice storm YET like last year......

Keep your damn snow and ice. I don't want it !!!!!!!! I all want is to get through Jan & Feb. When March rolls around we should be in the clear. Ahhhhhhhhh I can smell it, feel it and taste it, the warmth is approaching us. Believe me, I'm counting down the days.

Wednesday night,,, at least 8 , (maybe more) drivers laid down in SGF...... Wind chill -11 at 4am... Will be worse tonight by alot.... AND FOR THOSE who say thats nothing,,, up north we get ...... Well,,, this isn't up north !!!!! Snow blowing hard straight across the dock is sheer pleasure.............

You can't be serious Volare. Its really that cold where your at? Where exactly is your location? It sounds like to me that you're in Antarctica. I bet that you feel like a human polar bear driving around on that forklift. If that was me working on that dock, I'll be wrapped up like mummy. The only thing that you would see are my eyes. What would really suck for me is when it would come time for me to take a leak. That would be a challange in it self.

sgf is springfield mo and only the wind is -11 ah coldest i remember working the dock was -22 north wind just a howling and no dock bumpers that was a cold night 20 min on the 20 min in office to warm up over the weekend the cold would freeze toilets and burst em ice rink monday morning

You guys are insane. How were you able to get of the forklift to go inside the office to warm up? Wasn't your a** frozen fast to the seat and hands frozen fast to the stearing wheel? You probably had someone come to your rescue with a blowtorch. Do you guys have any penguins walking around on your dock? I can just picture an huge iceburg in the middle of your dock. Thats probably what you guys use for as the crows nest.

How many other tractors fuel jelled up ...I had to take a spare tractor back to the hub last night, It ran for about 2 min ... then jelled up, I poured hot water on the fuel filter glass...about 6 gallon before it would run ..once I got the tractor starting to warm up, and get the fuel warmer I had no other trouble ...however we did have a tractors crossover line freeze up about 30 miles before he got to KC ... both tractors where fueled at the HUBS, we didnt' have any trouble with our fuel.

The temp was 4 when I left our yard .... and 22 in the tropics when I got to the hub .... why the heck did I sign ...yes to the dock opition again ....don't answer ... I know ...eat up with the dumbas .....

We had alot of problems last year, but I believe they were experimenting with biodiesel then. Diesel will gel, but biodiesel freezes. We have no shop of our own, so I imagine what it cost to have venders put new fuel filters ( maybe 2 or 3 before thy would run ) on every truck in the yard.

Has to be a 50/50 mixture of diesel and bio when its cold out!
