Can you say CHEAP FREIGHT does not pay the bills.
couldnt agree more, they defianately undercut themselves in hopes of YRC shutting down and now its coming back to bite them in the butts. with hiring freezes, cut wages, lost benefits, cut jobs, its not looking good, the better pull their heads out and get it together before we are watching everyday to see if conway is staying open or not, and YRC is sitting back plotting how to handle OUR extra freight!!!

No you can't make a loan...they prefer to TAKE IT!!!...makes them feel like they are actually managing something.
What that "something" is is anyone's guess.

why are so many people so negative about this place? They did take away some things but unlike other companies we are getting some back. Yes we are paying more for insurance. That is not Con-ways fault. Health insurance is thru the roof in general. Check around see what others are paying I bet for the most part you will be happy with what we pay. No one forces us to stay here. The people that ***** are the ones that make this a bad place to work. Go take unemployment and let the people that want to work have your jobs. I dont feel Con-way jumped the gun on YRC and what was going on. Other companies were hiring tons of people. I know we held out. Why do you think we have all been working 50 some hours in the city every week. They wait till the last minute to react. I may sound like a company man/ suck up. Well I do choose to work here.

Well funny you should bring up the insurance thing. Health insurance at no cost to the employee was one of our benefits that they are now charging us for. They keep on taking, that's the problem. Yes, it is still a lot less than what others pay but my point that it used to be a benefit that we now have to pay part of.
When they started the company, they told everyone why they should work here. It was because of the benefits. We have better insurance and other benefits than union companies do. We had "management" insurance. Now I am on a damn HMO that I partially have to pay for. Dental that used to be 100% now down to 80% and so on. That doesn't sound like the insurance they promised us.
So, I know that times have changed and the economy, inflation, deflation, weather, what we get paid, what they charge us for and so on is changing. What I am saying and it is not complaining is that we have less and less everyday. So, if you want to call others out about their complaining, maybe you should sit back and really see where we started and where we are today. I am sure you will see a huge loss in "benefits".
It is not negativity, it is fact. Take away something from somebody, they are going to complain. Keep taking and they will keep complaining. Now I am not saying this is not a good place to work but if you could only see what it used to be then you would understand.
Unlike XGO , Dogs have the intelligence and common sense that God gave them. Also , dogs are good people. Treat them right and they can be trusted and are our friend the rest of our lives.

Wow; That was clear, concise, and will go down as one of the most poignant debates in history. I am sold. I have converted and I am a born again Team Conway guy.
I don't know if enjoy would be the right word. But reading the forums on other companies as well as my on. It always amazes me how there are always two groups of people. The first group is thankful to have a job and seems to always try to look for the good in the company. The second always no matter what the company does for them it isn't enough.
They only see the bad and its all they are looking for.
There is a lot going on in this economy right now I don't think any of us can afford to slack off or bad mouth our companies. Especially for customers to hear or read.
Having said all that I have been just as guilty sometimes. Human nature I guess.
Just my observation. No charge.

Black and white? No middle ground?
Man, that is harsh. That is like saying people are either bleeding-heart-liberal or ultra-conservative. Or that people are true believers in your specific religion or they are infidels on their way to hell.
I guess I should of got into it a little more. But It would of been a lot of typing.
It wasn't that harsh was it. Maybe I should of made it three groups. One for the middle ground.
