I work for Holland and had the pleasure of coming to your Camp Hill terminal the other night,I was impressed!
I was in and out of there in no time with a very nice load going back west.
I was especially impressed with how clean and organized your terminal is.
You guys run a tight ship over there,Keep up the good work!!

Doin Life, do you guys stage the frieght 1st and then have someone load it?

we stage our freight in front of the appropriate doors while the loaders are loading...
we use 5 men to load the outbound at 12 doors

when the trailer is loaded they bring in another...loaders use multiple doors to separate there freight to the correct destination.

we also use 1 man to load city freight.

as the strips get dwindled down then everyone else fills in where needed and some even go out in the city for the shorter runs....when the outbound is done then we start the inbound trailers...

our terminal has 85 doors....

Thanks, here in 24 we do progressive loading its alot harder to get the freight to fit in alot of times. I think the way you guys do it makes much more sense. (Less chance of damages) We have 80 doors here. Good Job!!

mrettb2001,kinda talking 2 differant things there.5 men loading outbound at 12 doors, is west freight getting floor loaded on 53', going to reddaway, usually pulled by glennmoore. and all the other points we go to out of our region.not 100% floor loaded, but they need to watch the weight, stuff you never worry about loading npme trailers for npme road. progressive loading is still used loading city freight, except city drivers ,if load not ready, are out stripping loads or takeing care of there own city trailer, so maybe call it personalized progressive loading.

I hear ya, but we do use progressive loading on the outbound.

allnightrain44 i don't know where you get this floor loaded stuff from....there are very few trailers going west or south that get floor loaded with the exception of the last loads of the day.....if it's to much freight to hold but not enough to go high and tight then yes it gets floored out but that's it.....even the Holland loads get stacked since there is more freight going out then coming in and we only have so many Holland drivers to utilize...

as far as progressive loading the city freight, yes some freight gets loaded that way but the man who loads that tries not to load the freight unless he can work it into the load so as not screw the driver. (IE) stops that are close to each other or that can that can work around easily enough..

not trying to start a pi**ing contest here, just want the facts correct..
