Bill Zollars , Can you see where the employees might feel just a lilltle betrayed by you and the rest of upper managment by giving Tim Wicks a eight hundred thousand $ package and at the same time all other emplyees are giveing back ? Giving all that money to an already rich man that laughs all the way to the bank. Think about all those layed off guys and thier familys . :smillie_flag:

I would ask if he has an unmarried daughter, so I could marry into the family because that is the only way I would get some of my money back

I wanna see the video of ur ole ladys closet again.I would also like to thank you and ur buddy jimmy for breaking the union freight division. I sure could use the $53.00 for gas money. lol

Empire Building should be done by growth due to increased revenue as a result of excellent customer service...........

The King of Trucking?

"With Zollars, the company has perhaps gotten into a little more empire building than he should have," says Smith. "While the Roadway merger made sense, it may have been a little early to jump into USF. We're seeing some of the pitfalls that can occur with an acquisition-focused strategy. But at this point you've made the big investments in these companies, and the best thing they can do is manage people's expectations for what the synergies are going to be, and perhaps reconsider whether the growth-by-acquisition strategy is the best thing going forward."

won't print the words but

I would like to tell Zollars to quit the company and let somebody that knows what they are doing run it. I would also tell him to quit paying people to stay working there. It's obvious that the guy can't be worth much since the company is in the shape that it's in. And, finally I would like to say I worked for a good company and now I don't.

What would I say to him? I don't think I'm allowed to say those words here..... :tongue0002::tongue0002::tongue0002::tongue0002::furious::realmad::ranting:

Bill, ya keep coming up with ways to regain the business coupons etc . promise to get the freioght delivered on time . How the hell are ya gona do it with a skeleton crew ? Heres what ya gots to do ,first quit playen games you know and every employee knowes thats what you are doing second of all call back the layed the offs, quit missing pick ups also get the t/m's and the dispatchers off the drivers asses . These are grown and professional men the same guys that made these two companys what they were the two top carriers in the nation .Just leave then alone and you'll pull out with in four to five months trust me , you'll see a turn around .

I would like to tell Bill......

Bill,
You have done a fine job keeping us out of bankruptcy, and juggling the money around. However, you need to put out a memo to the terminals that service failures will not be tolerated. Every service failure will be questioned, and challenged. Inform the terminals that if they need to recall employees to meet our service commitments, then recall the appropriate amount of drivers to do so. If you don't know your operation well enough to know what the appropriate number is, then maybe the person that replaces you will. In the same memo, let the terminals know that the unjustified mistreatment of employees will not be tolerated, and that they need to preach more of a team attitude. These issues should become effective immediately. And any terminal management that don't comply......should be looking for a new job.
And finally. Profit is the key word. We need profit. Period. The only way to show a profit is to move freight. Kick our sales force in the hinder immediately. If sales people don't follow up on sales leads, get rid of them. The District/Regional sales directors need to hold these sales people accountable for raising their numbers. Not just showing some B.S. numbers, while sitting at home most of the day. Either they meet their goals, or replace them with someone who will. Trust me on this Bill. It will make your job of juggling the money easier, when we have a profit. From what I see Bill, failure seems to be acceptable nowadays. Well it isn't in my world. Send the memo today!

I would imagine Galen Rousch, Roadway's founder, and A.J. Harrell, Yellow's founder, would be truly disgusted at what has happened to their trucking companies. These companies survived the Great Depression, World War II, and numerous rough economic times in this country's history, but probably aren't going to survive $ Bill.

Also survived deregulation! And as far as Galen Rousch, he would CLEAN HOUSE the way the clowns in Overland Park and through out the system are running YRC.
