My understanding is road bids on hold. Company trying to cut more & union holding them to 90% agreed to in writing in contract. We will see what comes out of this.
 
This loophole was pointed out when we were presented with the contract to sign. But the unionize at all cost people were up in arms screaming that "WE HAVE TO SIGN THIS CONTRACT OR ITS A STRIKE". I wonder how many of the ones that just HAD to have the contract the way it is without standing fast and sending it back to be reworded are trying to feed their family at the soup kitchen and wondering if they will have a home tomorrow?

Why are we (Teamsters) allowing this?? why do we LOAD their trailers?? why do we JOCKEY their equipment? a Rdvr is not allowed to move it, then why are others allowed to work with them??? We are letting the enemy in without even blinking. They will keep it up and we will keep allowing it. Stop the BS. let a superv. load, move.
 
Well then. I guess you were right. What do we do now since you seem to know it all?

I dont know anything, I'm just a Rdvr. but I do see jockeys and dockworkers loading and moving their trailers. If it's nonunion, let nonunion people handle it. surely,we have contract lanquage somewhere on this. Really, what if they hired dockworkers and jockeys that were not union? whats the difference now?
 
Where i am located the problem is with proof. I am not in a mini hub or hub terminal but the only ones who would report it and take the time to gey trl numbers pro numbers from that trl are at the house when it happens and the ones there at the time its happening are either too scared or dont care enough to get us the unfo. But those are the same people who cry the loudest when their butts are sitting at the house. Thankyou for caring enough to post this clear continuing violation.

I think it would be real simple, a "mini-strike". have the union inform the dock and jockeys to not load or move contract equipment. Road drivers are not allowed to touch it, why should it be any different for any other member. stage the freight, tell the pad man "union rules state we cant jockey the nonunion trailers". just thinking out of the box!
 
When I work the hub, I will not load the contractors trailers. I dock the freight and let someone else load it.
 
I was talking to a fedx driver out of Billerica Ma and he told me they where having the same trouble at there NBR term. They where loading 2 53 independents a night for Billerica, and they have now got it stopped. Now how is it that a non union company can get this stopped so they have more work for there own guys,but the union can't seam to get it done over here!!!!! Guess we know what the union is doing for us, well at least from where I stand!!!!!
 
We had an issue with a Contractor trying to hook a set of pups in the yard, he had arrived in between I/B and O/B shifts, so no one could help him. I had hooked up my truck and was headed to dispatch, the O/B jockey had clocked in and was helping the guy out, I told him he should have told the contractor to f*** off and figure out himself since hes taking work from our own roaddrivers! That really makes me feel safe on the road, UPS letting contractors pull sets who can't even hook them up! That will look real good on the front page when an accident occurs!
 
I love when a contractor comes in and can't speak a lick of English!! You can tell he is trying to find out where the dispatcher is but I lead them onto a wild goose chase all over the yard!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
 
let me explain it to you this way driver, if the slobavioan jug sucking ups had a sack they would admit that they are the most patheic morally and ethically bunch of sons a *****es that ever lived and if the union would admit they are a bunch of scum sucking ***** that they are and would get out of bed with the loser management at ups, then if you could get them to stop using us to make nice so both parties can have a nice contract at our expense then you can see the big picture. Neither little jimmy the midget leader and the monger from ups care one rats *** how many cars and houses you lose or spouses you get divorced from but they want you to send donations to haiti to feed poor starving childen, but they care not one iota about you homeless and starving children.
enough said, I may have to take my medication.
