Having followed this board and its predecessor for several years now, I have noted certain patterns and trends over time.
To wit, during "freight season" (excluding last year when the bottom fell out), we see a lot of "I can't believe I can't get some time off. All this overtime is killing me."
During the winter months (excluding this season when we appear to be giving away the store), there's usually a lot of, "Where did all the freight go? I'm only getting out three days a week."
Then elsewhere in TB-land, you can usually (again, excluding this past year when all eyes have been on the Doomsday Clock) count on frequently recurring topics such as, "DHL is buying YRC and I know it's true because I saw Deutsche Bank listed on one of their SEC forms and Deutsche Bank already owns DHL." (Irrespective of the fact that Deutsche Bank and Deutsche Post - the actual owner - are as different as Bank of America and the US Postal Service.)
And then there is the one topic that always rears its head anywhere from mid-December to very-early-January.
So I am shocked - SHOCKED - that with one week left in January I have yet to see it mentioned on this board.

What is wrong with you people?
Where is your usual outrage? Your histrionics? Your conspiracies?
Generally someone demands for a full accounting of why they wait until the end of the month to send them, but this year...nothing.
Silence. Disgusting, non-entertaining silence.
It's almost enough to make me think that we've finally grown up a little...that we understand that the world isn't going to end because they weren't in our mailboxes on January 3.
I have to tell you, this has been a considerable shock to my system. I may need to speak with a professional.
oaf (disturbed) (more than usual)
