what do you do as a steward when you feel you have the co. by the balls and your b/a does a 360 and is in agreement with co. :ranting:

If you feel that there was a contractual violation and you had valid reason for a greivance and your BA sold you out, you need to remember that he also has a boss... You always need to be on the same page with the BA BEFORE you go to management with any issue so you present a united front.. If you can provide more information, I can possibly be of more help.

How much is your BA going to trust you if you put your disagreements out on a public message board? The Union is not a perfect system but our strength is in standing together and choosing our battles wisely.

Your BA should have communicated with you as to why he did what he did. Even if you don't agree with his decision, communication keeps us all working together.

I do understand your point and u make a lot of sense but i shoot straight from the hip and how i feel is how i feel. Also there is a flip side to that coin, he should worry about how much he is going to be trusted. After all he holds more weight than i do.

If you feel you are correct, go over his head. It has nothing to with trust. It is all about him doing his job. When he knows you are not going to put up with BS representation, he will improve his performance. Like us, he doesn't want his boss on him all the time.

you wise up and pick you battles wisely it is hard enough go against ups with the unions help, if you **** both off your just gonna make things worse. If your BA decieded against you there was a reason for it, some things are not worth fighting.

Sometimes a poor BA will decide against the dues payers because they don't feel like fighting the battle. From what I read on this board, some of these locals need a foot up their ***. Our problem isn't our local fighting for us, it's the way this contract was drawn up.
