The Feb.14th start date for the New Bids have Offically been pushed back to Feb. 21st due to the weather on the east coast..If this storm continues to hammer the east coast the Start Date could be pushed to the 28th....

For those that transferred and are in transit or in place already, they will be allowed to work the Extra Board at their new location until the New Bids take effect...

Good Luck to everyone this may effect...

Its my understanding that many terminals don't have the trucks or man power to fill them anyway. They have known about this for months and now were paying the price. CHR has planted the seed about taking all bid trucks away from the drivers. And they wonder why were always complaining. Of coarse, this could all have been prevented with just a little bit of planning. But we all know that here in CHR that would be too much to ask for.

Weather my a ss. They aren't ready and they don't want to tell the truth.

KCM has already told us we will slip seat. They will be renting some trucks to help out.

I was about to say....are we just posting jobs to create tyranny and confusion? I mean not to speak outta school, but shouldn't the horse go b4 the cart? lol

Just shows you what a horribly managed company this is.
I mean bottom of the barrel.
What are we on now, our 4th president in 4 years?!?!!?
Who's next to step up to the plate only to get the purple axe in 5 months?
Gee...that kind of leadership inspires confidence in our customers.
And who's brainstorm was it to rail so much freight?
A bunch of customers on my route were really happy to get their skids 8 days late.
So much so, that they were on the phone with their ABF reps.
I swear, it if wasn't for YRCW imploding I doubt we'd have anything to haul.
Get this...even as an employee and with a company discount, I don't use FXNL for long-haul LTL for my family's business.
I use Roadrunner.
40% cheaper and my freight isn't used as a stack-table.
With half of it missing/smashed on the other end.

Isn't that sad?
What a dam joke!!!

Not trying to start trouble but half of this post is a repost from yourself about how crappy this place is. If you dislike the company so badly why do you stay? Why would you want to subject your family to earning a living from the "bottom of the barrel"? As for railing freight that is about to change and there are other companies who rail way more than we do.

I do agree though that it would be embarassing to go in 8 days late with freight. Try to look at some of the positives Mike this company does have some, focus on those you will feel much better at the end of the day.

Did I say this was a crappy company?
NO...I said it was a crappily MANAGED company.
Who is going to disagree with me with the way management has TOTALLY dropped the ball in regards to all these new bids?
Talk about a CLUSTER****?
Our president has just abruptly quit after a mere 5 months...we're now on our 4th in 4 years....5th if you consider Chip Watkins as nothing more than a token president.
What happened to re-engineering for 99?...I've still got my CD from 2 years ago...where's yours?
CIN screwed up beyond belief...on a good day/night it's a mess.
Late freight.
Damages.
Equipment shortages.

The fact is that ALOT of people in management are being EXPOSED for INCOMPETENCE as freight levels have risen and FedEx tries to bring this operation up to a higher level.
Freight has shot up, we've gotten alot of zip codes back that we lost...and we are DROPPING THE BALL.

And I never said that you said it was a crappy company did I? I think I said it was a repost about how crappy this place is which is exactly what you are doing. I also said I agree with some things you are saying. And believe me Mike I have some really deep issues with this company but all my complaints fall on deaf ears.

Someone asked me what I would do in that situation....about trying to be heard, and I said that probably the only way to get your say without certainly being ignored is to call Memphis and talk to someone in corporate. Unless you live life on the edge, try to remain anonymous. I have seen things backfire too many times when they know who you are...

I must live life on the edge then.....:biglaugh:

I have been know to make a call or three...:mfight:...and normally with good results...Made 1 this week as a matter of fact.:icon_dance:

LOl ls57racer...It all depends on what I have to lose...if it is a battle worth fighting for or not...but glad there are people who stand up for what they believe in.

Go work for someone else if you think the competition is any better run. I'm tired of you blasting the way the company is run every chance you get. If you are not part of the solution, you are the problem. Quit giving us all the wrong things this company does. How about one post from you telling us what you like.

If you focus on the negative all the time, that's all you will see.

Hey Mike why don't you share with the class what you have done to try to make things better here at FXNL....

Have you took a stance on anything or perhaps sent in any speak up forms? Maybe made some calls or just voiced your opinion during one of your round table meetings. You strike me as the type to complain about everything you can when you are around "the guys" but to smile and pretend things couldn't be better when you are in front of management.

This kinda reminds me of people who complain about the US helping other countries and saying we have people here who need our help and they criticize anyone who lends a hand to these people yet when you ask them what they do to help out the "people here" they can't come up with anything.

Well Zoots, of course I've voiced my opinions about things.
But does anybody listen?
Nooooooo....
I'm just a driver afterall.

Alot of you guys here are linehaul drivers it looks like.
You just drive around listening to XM Radio oblivious to what the guys on the front lines are going through.
You don't see what the freight looks like in your trailer
You don't work it and you don't deliver it.
You just break your sets, drop em' in the door, hand in your bills, and go home.

But I'm a city driver and I also work the dock.
I see the screwed up trailers, I recoup the skids falling over, I deliver the damaged/late freight to our customers and hear them complain about poor service.
And I interact with management EVERYDAY.
Don't get me wrong I don't begrudge you guys...if it wasn't for my kids I'd have grabbed a linehaul gig years ago.
But you can't see what's going on at this company when you're on the road all the time.

You left a few things out in the description of the linehaul drivers. Not only do we listen to XM but we take naps, talk and text on our cell phones and just have plain ole fun out on the road. From now on unless I have a complaint about road construction I'm just gonna keep quite on the "back line".

Thank you for making this company go round Sir.

Hey Mike I use to work in P&D before i switched to the line haul. When i was there the first thing i saw was the volume of damaged stuff. Having never been in the freight business I couldn't believe it. I asked how come there is so much damage. I was told its part of the Business. I said huh? Mike, you said u have seen the freight in the line haul trailer. I don't where u work weather its a end of the line terminal or a break bulk but all my trailers coming into break bulk centers where it is unloaded and reloaded into your P&D trailer or loaded into a trailer for your terminal. Line haul drivers don't load these trailers. Dock workers (that probably are part time) and Drivers that work the dock to get the hours in load these trailers. They are the one that run the forks of the forklift into that pallet etc. Yeah i was embarrassed to deliver some of the stuff. I got tired of the stress to make 2 delivery an hour and have to explain why i couldn't. The boss at our terminal called in one of the P&D drivers into the office and told him he is too slow. Yes i bet u do interact with management everyday because they are watching u like a hawk. I know u out there doing your best as I was too. My Hats off to you guys. You guys work your butts off and under allot of stress to make the goals that they set for you. I am glad I switched to line. Now I don't have all that stress and can listen to XM as I drive to my met.

I just heard that the new bid date (at least in the northeast) has been postponed again to 3-1. Anyone want to speculate when the new bids will really start?

So what are they doing about seniority? Do the guys who left one board to go to another lose their current seniority or do they hold their spot since everything has been put on hold?

For example - city driver goes to line haul board but since the buds have been put on hold the city driver has to stay on the city board for now. Does the driver hold their seniority in the city or does the driver fall to the bottom? I am trying to explain this so it makes some sense, I hope I did that.
