Last week I received a call from Bill H at the La Vergne, TN Terminal to come in for an interview. The interview went well. My question is how long is the hiring process? Thanks guys!

It took me about 1 month, they WILL CALL everybody you used to work for. After the interview it did not take that long about 2 weeks for me,call the TM for an update.

Good luck man. I applied online on 1/28, still haven't heard anything. I called in a few times, tm said they hadn't started the Linehaul apps yet.

From the time of the interview to the time I applied was 3 weeks, but I applied for terminals all over the country. Bill H said that if I didn't hear anything from fedex national in 2 weeks from the interview that meant that I didn't get the position. At the end of the 2 weeks I'm still going to call him!

hey mav how did you handle answering the questions they give? They really put you on the spot to think fast dont they?

I don't know, HR told me that they could not tell me anything about the hiring process.

I just went through the hiring process, here were I'm at it took 2 weeks from the time I was called for interview till I start.

BUT alot depends on the TM and the particular terminal. There's a bunch of paperwork they have to do and some TMs are flooded with new hires so it might take longer at some were like Memphis. I was told Memphis still needs another 40 or 50 processed to be done.

The orientation itself takes a week, but they pay milage and hourly to get there, 8 hrs. top hourly pay a day for class and meals and motels paid.
I grossed well over a grand just for orientation week plus expenses.

You can not ask for a better deal than that, Pay wise.

I submitted my app online with Fedx Natl on 9/17/09 & started orientation on 11/2/09. Fedx Natl does check your DAC. How do I know.. because they checked mine. I didn't include JBHunt from 2/2005 because they pulled a hustle move on me so I never started their orientation or collected a pay check from them and still JBHunt put on my DAC that I worked there :toxic: . Good luck to the guys waiting on the phone call from Fedx!

It's been 2 weeks...any word from FXN yet?

I was wondering about the hiring process also. Bill H. called me last tuesday while I was unloading in Boston (for another co.) and scheduled me for interview last Monday for P&D driver position. Interview went well, Questions went well and DOT test was aced. immediately sent for physical and drug screen. Went back later that day for road test after a driver returned from his route. It also went well. It consisted of hooking to 48' dry van, making a loop in the parking lot and backing to dock. Next was hooking to a set and taking about a 30 mile road run and unhooking the set. I told the Manager I had never pulled a set and he says "No problem, nothing to it, we'll show you how". He then informed me that all we were waiting on was headquarters to do DOT verifications and for drug screen to return and he hopes to have me in classes in Memphis next week. Never had an accident or ticket in 25 years of comm. vehicle driving and dont do drugs so that should all go well. Question is.... Do I stand a decent chance of being called and how lond till I'm notified? Its been 3 days and I'm on eggshells here.

Just be Patience.. Your as good as in already....The back ground check is what slows things up..... I would guess you will be cleared on that early next week and be notified to start orientation a week from Monday...Good Luck my friend.

thnx racer, I'm extremely excited to start working for Fedex ntl. All I've heard is positive feedback from employees. While being in the terminal during the interview process, (Daphne,al.) I was amazed at the moral of all the employees, from mgt on down it was great. Thanks for your reply and take care.

I'm going thru the background check right now and should be starting the driving test and orientation soon. Took about two weeks before the SCM called from when I submitted my Application online. Can't wait to start humping freight again
