I have never felt like I am on a rudderless ship, but I have seen times when it appears the helmsman is asleep at the wheel. This past Sunday was a good example. Due to the last week's inclement weather and cancellation Thursday night in the northeast, it was announced that it was "all hands on deck" for Sunday. This was fine. If there is work to do, let's do it. The problem I had was I felt whoever was at the helm should have announced that we were working a normal schedule on Sunday. Instead the freight was just thrown up in the air for anyone to grab including independent contractors and p+d drivers. As soon as the freight was covered everyone else was told they weren't needed resulting in a lot of spoiled plans for alot of people with no income had.
