missed a called yesterday that left me a voice mail. yrc glenmoore is hiring in northeast region and team division. 500 bux to go orintation . Funny thing is i never ever filled out an aplication to any of yrc subsidiraries. wonder how they got my number? yet they are laying drivers off or dont have enough? i just didnt make sense to me

Glen Moore pays about the same as us for their teams. They get better and faster trucks with prepasses. The international gets paid for each trailer they haul. Glen Moore pulls are doubles out west as our teams just sit. I hear in Kansas City there is always a Glen Moore truck sitting in our yard waiting to pull our loads west.

Just got a call from them too. Applied 3 times the past year. One of the stipulations is that they want you to "Resign" from YRC b4 they will hire you. Anyone else been told this? I have no problem going to work for them, as this is more then likely the "new" face of YRC, but to try to coerce someone to throw away their personal safety net-NOT! Any of you fine Union BA's following up on this. I'd like to know.
Remember, that is only the rail-freight out of KCM/326.

I just went in today to renew my DOT phys. When I went in I told the nusre I was from YRC. She asked if I was from Glenn Moore. I told her no. Then asked if they are sending people in for Phys. She told me they send 2 or 3 people in evry other day for drugs screens for new hires. She said its funny because most do not come back. Either way they must still be hiring.

Also I was at Charlotte last week they are still coming in there. Sat waiting on van for about an hour watched 3 of them come in.

YRC Glenn Moore just laid off all of their road drivers running out of Kansas City. They where given no reason, but told it was a permanant layoff. That you will never be recalled. So 326 is calling back 20 YRC drivers to start with. Perhaps the battle with Glenn Moore in KCM is won??? Who knows.

I was told some time back that Glenmoore went teamster , I hope that' s true .
[move]Define what a Teamster is now a days.[/move]

Glenmoore did lay off drivers, but what i was told the drivers that were let go were not productive and i was never asked to resign. The only Glenmoore teamsters are the teams out of Kanas City they are on a white paper contract ,The drivers out of Carlisle and Knoxville are not Teamsters. I dont think anyone will ever get the Teamsters in after we had to take a cut in pay. I have talked to other drivers and was asked were i came from and when i tell them that i was a teamster they dont want to here anything about them

The drivers were trained by Glenmore, to reply with that answer. They don't want to talk about a union, but they are more than happy to haul our freight next to nothing. Kind of reminds me of some of the Teamster Lite drivers I know that pride themselves on working the same way everyday.

HAHAHAHA, trained by Glen Moore. Iceman127's post was the truth. As a 20 year Teamster that has spent the last year at Glen Moore. I was brainwashed a lot more by the Teamsters into thinking how great they were. While the top 50 or whatever made 6 figures, FROM OUR DUES! I could write a book on how I got my 20 years in. 3 companies and 7 terminals. Ok junior. your turn.

Don't worry Jr., there will be Regulation happening again soon in truck driving. Especially if the Healthcare Bill passes. The current union members will not be taxed for the next four years. If I am not mistaken, did the the Philadelphia terminal for Fed Ex just signed up to be Teamster? I'm sure when Fed Ex goes union, the years can be reactivated for more than 20 years served. When the time comes either sign the union card, or give up the 20 years invested with the Teamsters prior. I think it will be an easy choice on that issue.

I called the international about them asking us to resign told me they would talk to managment and i gess that didnt happen that is crap its the same company.

It is the same company on paper, but not in the same world of reality BS that they try to pass over onto everyone. Don't resign, take a LOA. It isn't any of their business what you decide to do either.

Welcome to TB Iceman127!!!

So let me get this correct...

You are going to come into the the YRC LTL forum, where thousands have lost their jobs, some to the company you work for, that has taken over some of their work and you think you will get a rosy reception talking non-union.

Did I sum this up correctly?

Please remember YOU are a visitor in this forum. You will be extended the same "home forum" courtesy if you post in the YRC GlenMoore forum and YRC LTL drivers start talking pro-union to you.

I would not go to your house and take a dump in your living room. Please offer the same courtesy, when contributing to posting in this (YRC) forum.

There are also lively postings in the General Truck Drivers forum. That forum has very few union followers. There is a link for TB rules, please review it when you get a chance.
...and again Welcome to Trucking Boards.

Back off guys...
He is a new member and should be extended the courtesy of being permitted to get his feet wet, before anyone chews him up and spits him out. He seems like he'll be a good member.

AAAGH Shoot! The boss has the handcuffs out already. ;) Freebe extended. :) But I expect sombody to clean up this pile in my living room, I'm not doing it.
