I am a Pjax driver in Baltimore. I took a personal day last week to go do something with my son while he was off for easter break. On Friday my terminal manager informed me that Kevin Mudd in Pittsburgh has a new poilcy whereas if you take a day off during the week then it is mandatory that you run linehaul on saturday that week. How the hell can they do this? I am a city driver. I had plans on saturday. I am supposed to just drop all my plans so i can make them happy? I thought my job was to work monday thru friday as a local driver, not on saturday as a line-haul driver. Looks like I may be getting fired. I will certainly get a lawyer on this one if i do get in trouble for this. This company gets worse everyday. I dont remember seeing this rule in the employee handbook.

if you have the hours available, and have been off duty the legal amount of time needed between shifts, you are available for work period.

It's a new rule everywhere in the company. Take a day off , and if you don't have any personal or vacation days left, and you have hours, yes, you need to work the weekend. Handbook? Never seen one-that's so they can change it at will. Remember, you are not a valued company asset, but rather just a pile of ::shit::, in the company's eyes...
And don't forget, all Line haul and Combo drivers are now on a 70 hour/8 day schedule-so you'll have plenty of hours!!!(P&D are still on 60/7)
We just had two new hires both quit after just a few days of driving. And a new hire that never showed! :biglaugh:

If it's like our boss told us ......."there are lots of people in the UN-employment line , that WON'T complain about working weekends !" . Maybe when & if our economy EVER comes back , bosses will care a little more about us !

Right NOW everything is in their FAVOR ,,,.......If you like to eat !

Kevin Mudd??? He quit in 2008 to work for Heinz as their transportation manager. How can your T.M. be quoting from Kevin Mudd (Kevin was in charge of OS&D) concerning linehaul runs???

Really? Huh. He was just at our terminal for several weeks, and I met and talked with him. Must have been a ghost.. :biglaugh:

Seriously, do you know what Kevin's title is?? or do you only speak in smart mouth? If not then maybe you should turn your TV to the "quiet" channel.

Kevin did quit, but they offered him more money so he came back. Yes Mr. Lewis is still in Baltimore.
