ABF | what is the end result.....?

I agree on the yes vote! Not one person working for ABF had the company come to your door and ask you to work for them. You all asked them for the job. If 15% is too much for you to give back then feel free to go find another job out there where the pay is this good even at 15% less. Report back here and tell us of your search. Am I a company man? Yes I am! Let's all put our High School Business classes to work and see that ABF does need the help and do the right thing to help us all.

Well, you really must take the :buttkisser: of the year. You are right on one occasion though,Abf didn't come to my door asking me to work for them but now they come begging me for money! Nobody twisted their arm when they signed this contract and we will see that they live up to it! I'll tell you what, if you are so worried about ABF, you can voluntarily give your 15% back! But, I'll take a wild guess here, you would never do that, would you????? Time to put your money where your mouth is!! If you would of took psychology 101 instead of business, you might actually have a clue in what they are trying to do here! No,I don't think that I will go elsewhere for a job , I'm actually pretty damn happy here, thank you very much!!

Thanks for your views WM. I didn't dis you by calling names but Glad you feel better.Have a blessed Day and we will all see later this month!!

I think that you might try and read that one post again and then try and say that you didn't "dis" me! What do you call telling people like me to go and hunt for another job??? That kind of remark is just asking for trouble!!!

Yzguy, I enjoyed your post and it was very well said. You are exactly correct, we will know in just a few weeks. Make sure to keep up on the posts at ABFatwork.com. YOU are not alone in your thinking.

Just always remember; opinions are like butts, everyone has one, and everyone thinks everyone else’s stinks.

If you vote "Yes" to this (you must sit down when you pee). You also have no back bone. This proposal wage cut is to long. It should be looked at and voted on each year. Let me ask a question here. If passed and at the end of the contract do you see us getting the 15% back plus a raise with the new contract? I bet they will say we can not afford the 15 and a raise. Mark my words. :hissy:

Also, when was the last time the teamsters voted down a request or contract from a company? People are afraid to stand up anymore thats why teamsters are so weak these days. I'm becoming embarrased to be apart of such a weak/crooked organization. Does anybody in the upper ranks of the union have any you know what and not in bed with the other side? If this passes, I think our teamster officials need to be changed like our government.

according to babbs we have a chance at negotiating a performance bonus plan like the 1 in the mou into our next contract... at least thats what he said when i asked him why we never opened the contract when they were banking hundreds of millions a year...
yes they think we are all a bunch of inbred stupid uneducated 3rd grade education jethro bodean idiots

Well I haven't gotten a ballot yet, so I have not voted yet. I sat in the meeting with the company big wigs and listen to what they had to say. There was nothing said in that meeting that made me think ABF was hurting. While the meeting was going on there was two new trailers outside in the yard. One trailer was built in March of 2010 the other in April of 2010. Damm we are only in May of 2010. If we are in such bad shape why not push the purchase of new equipment back. Also we were told that if the concession were in place in 2009 ABF would still have lost 100 million, but only 25 million of their money. The other 75 million would have come from us. The company also said that they would not pass this on to the customers. So where will the new freight come from if they can't match the discount being given by the other ltl carriers. All I came away with is that it is better to lose your money rather than that of the company. By getting these concessions we will still lose money but most of it will be your money. This will slow the company cash burn down and buy us some time. This is what it is all about they don't want to have to go to the banks.

Now,I dont know if the prez of ups freight is wanting more business by what he said...he said not to give em any money.they will just waste it.
