When did they stop doing that? If the holiday falls on Saturday, it's observed on Friday. If it falls on Sunday, it's observed on Monday. It's been working that way for over 15 years.

I saw a post at my terminal that says they are expecting freight levels to be light on july 2nd
and the 5th, but we might be open if we need to be on the 5th.....if i read it right....

yep....... 4th of july and christmas are affected this year. thats why i scheduled my vacations accordingly

It stopped when we became "Freight, INC". This is from our beloved intranet....

"A holiday that occurs on a Saturday will be paid on Saturday and a holiday that occurs on a Sunday will be paid on Sunday. The decision on whether a location will be open or work limited hours of operation and use a reduced workforce or skeleton crews will likely be determined by the dates our customers observe in order to continue to serve their needs."

They give us a personal day to take now, remember? I think it started with X-mas 2yrs ago.
