I was talking to our Asst. Terminal Manager yesterday about starting pay and he told me there will be a 2% increase for city and linehaul in June. Anyone else heard anything?

There should be no raise until the Freight division is profitable.

Here is what I was told, although I have a wait and see, or I'll believe it when I see it attitude...This comes from a usually good source, but it seem high to me, so I guess we will see soon enough....

I was told L/H will get 2 1/2 cents on mileage....No info on the hourly for L/H or City, but 2 % as you suggest sounds about right. :drama:

2 percent of our hourly rate and or 2 percent of our mileage rate....what are u talking about
[/quote]

I was told both.

I'm sure they would be more than happy to keep yours.

Why should I not get a raise because of something I can't control, i.e. the rates? I shouldn't. The cost of living is going up more than 2% every year. I'll take the 2% and thank them very much.

2% Raise:

.545 X .02 = .0109 + .545 = 55.59 cents per mile

Much better than no raise, but only half of the other rumors......

2.5 cents would be and increase of 4.59% or more than double the usual cost of living raise.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

+ = Win for us no matter the percentage!!

If you get a 2% raise, then FedEx must raise their rates 2% to cover the cost of paying you.
That could be the difference between freight riding on our trailers over a competitor.
We've got it pretty damn good compared to alot of these low-life outfits.
Round here, this is the best truckin' job in town.
Maybe you'd be happier at R&L buying a pallet jack, no overtime, and they take all your personal days away?
2% of nothing is nothing when the company loses freight to :shit:bag outfits when they have to raise rates.

No doubt Mike, I worked for the big black and red carrier in the Southeast. Less per hour,no OT forced time off, pay for your own pallet jack and you better watch your back and don't **** anyone off or your out the door. Pretty damn happy to be here. :kicking:

Even though I don't agree with your fuzzy math, they already did bubba.

January 15, 2010

FedEx Freight and FedEx National LTL, subsidiaries of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), will implement 5.9% general rate increases (GRI) effective February 1, 2010.

I doubt it. I'm happy here and I don't need a pallet jack. I don't know where I'd put it in the cab anyway. DORK!

I don't see how everybody getting 2% evens things out with freight. we make 2% more ph in city, they make 2% more per mile. so how is everybody getting a raise?

I heard we are getting a raise but every region will be different do to the cost of living in various regions. The percentages I have heard are from 30 to 3 percent LOL This is suppose to start May 31

Do you actually believe that published LTL rates have ANYTHING to do with negotiated rates?
Are you naive enough to think FedEx would raise rates 5.9% across-the-board with so much industry over-capacity and 85+ discounts?

Man, some of you guys need to get a clue...

Varnco, don't be such a DA. You stated that they would have to raise the rates to give us a raise. I showed you that they already did. Why don't you contribute to this board instead of always being the nay-sayer? You never have anything good to say.

:tribe:

You're the DA, Guardrail.
They didn't raise rates in any meaningful way.
Maybe 5-10% of our overall business was affected by that increase.
But no carrier has raised rates across the board.
Anyone who raises rates in this environment will be seeing empty trailers.

Your 2% raise will be incurred as a loss to the Freight opco (which includes Freight, FXNL, and CC) on the P&L
But it will be made up for by the parcel division.
That's FedEx's ace in the hole: a profitable Ground & Express division.
Those guys are carrying us right now.

I don't say anything positive?
Trust me, when the LTL dust settles...and eventually it will...anyone who hires on at FedEx now will have at least 10-50+ men under them in a few years time.
That's all I got to say..you can figure out the rest.

Go back to your rock Mikey. Stop trying to sound like the expert. You stated that FedEx would have to raise rates to give us a raise.

The exact quote is
If you get a 2% raise, then FedEx must raise their rates 2% to cover the cost of paying you.

When I call you out on your obvious lack of knowledge by showing you the 5.9% increase in January, you start in on how that doesn't count and it doesn't apply... bla...bla...bla.

Stop being the rain on the parade. No one likes all the negativity you heap on every thread you post to.

You truly are a moron.
The funny thing is that you don't even know it. :biglaugh:

I'm not gonna argue with you anymore.
Believe what you want, it's no skin off my back...
