There's a UPSF terminal close to me hiring part time dock with a cdl. Can anyone tell me what the hourly rate is for this position and whether or not these workers get health insurance? I'm presently laid off from YRC and unemployment comp. can supplement a part time position for quite some time.

Don't but I think the contract says pt get insurance after one year of service. Starting pay I'm not sure about it.

i was hired as a part-time dock with cdl, and they started me out at $10.50, i hear different stories about starting pay especially with cdl's

I agree it should be made more clearer, but no i haven't made full time yet, actually been waiting for 3 years, i've got so many people ahead of me right now i don't know if that will ever happen. I don't mean to discourage you, but we have a guy on the dock right now thats been with the company for 6 years still waiting to go full time. UPS doesn't get in a hurry when it comes to that
do you work at a hub or an end of the line terminal?

it's not a hub, we're you full time at yrc? We just hired a guy from there not too long ago; had several years with the company, making good money, got laid off, then took a job part time with us; he was a driver there
Yup, full time! If $10.50 is the best they can do I will not be interested. I filled out the online form just for the hell of it. Do they e-mail you an invitation to fill out an application or do they call you to come in for an interview? Pretty strange employment section on their website. Usually you go online and get an application to fill out.

They called me in for an interview; but before you give up just check and make sure, they may start you out at more, if they do i guess i got screwed. But i wanted to be honest with you about going full time, they tend to drag their feet on that issue, also on the getting hired process, i took a drug test in the beginning of october, somehow it took them so long to get everything squared away, that i had to go take another drug test, because the time had lapsed on the first one, i actually didnt start working until the second week of december. But good luck to you with whatever you decide
