A friend of mine who goes to Indy, said a few people he talked to on the dock claimed to have had their meeting already. Said because of the 10 hour rule, they were going to eliminate runs over 500 miles. Anybody know anything about this? if this is true, relay centers would be the hardest hit.

600 runs fo sho but 500 na no way they would have to hire ::shit:: load more drivers trucks trailers etc. But IMO I think were going back to 10 hrs.

With no rule out yet and if they set it back expect to go to court and be tied up in the courts for a long time and during that time the 11 rule will remain in place

Yea 640 miles straight shot no stop signs no traffic lights no scales to pull into no border patrol ck points lets see no traffic at all no school zones for us with half a day run sure it can be done.

10 hours X 64 mph = 640 miles. I don't buy it. I'm calling... well, you know, my bud Bravo... oh, never mind.

:hysterical: There yea go. When ya wanna know the real deal on something call one of them Sierra boys, they always know what's goin' on!

I'm calln' Barney Sierra on this one myself!

I agree they are planning to eliminate 600 mile runs when the rule is final on ten hours. It is impossible to average the speed limit for ten hours. We get stuck in traffic and sometimes vehicles merge into traffic.

Fedex Freight dont have any trucks pulling trailers up the big hills that can maintain 64 mph, more like 20-30 mph up the big hills

Try a state where the speed limit is 55 wth many many hills, all those big runs from the Mtn Hme relay ctr are cheating on their logs.
Enjoy the $$ while you can, the electronic logs will tell the truth.

I'm all for the 10 hr rule, just my opinion on a work forum.

Years ago the D.O.T. told CF Freight that there was no way they were makin KC to Denver in 10 hours with their trucks.CF's solution...they turned up the trucks on that run to 75-80 mph.Im not saying that will be Fedex's solution but you never know.

I wanna see one of those Mira Loma trucks pull Cajon at 64mph. But I agree that getting rid of the 600+ runs is possible though I'm not sure how that would work for CDS-MRL. Especially if they put in that 14=13hr rule.

You are sure hung up on what Mountain Home is doing. Why is that...

This whole notion is foolish. Here is an example. CLT(charlotte nc) has been running into CRW (charleston wv) ever since crw started a hub operation many many years ago in the AF days, in smurfs at that, over mountains, and in the winter. All this under the 10 hour rule as it was back then. 284 miles each way. A bit more than 500 miles I think. We could find these examples all over the place.
