Bill Zollars knows his retirement as chairman and CEO of YRC Worldwide Inc.bizWatch won’t be mourned in certain corners of the national trucking giant.

But he said in an interview Friday, during the remaining hours of his 12-year tenure atop the Overland Park-based company (Nasdaq: YRCW), that evaluating his legacy at YRC requires more than focusing on the immediate past.

“As I told the employees today, I think you have to go back to the first part of the decade, in the 2000s, when together we built the largest trucking company in the world,” Zollars said, pointing out the four years of record revenue and profits and industry accolades. “Those were really the high points.”........................

YRC’s Zollars: He would have done few things differently - Kansas City Business Journal

This is a two page article so please read both pages and for all you Zollars lover please stock up on tissues before reading it's a real tear jerkier . Sorry I couldn't help myself on that one :hide:

So if I buy a house I can't afford, lease cars that i can't afford to fix and max out credit cards all while working tons of overtime to pay for it awhile. When I lose it all you should still envy me, because it wasn't my fault.

I didn't read it yet R 14. Got to go to the store first for tissue, you know how I feel about Zollars. This should be a good story (revisionist). Does it start out "Once upon a time....."?

I'm going to get some cheese to go with that whine...LOL SWI.

Look just forget the part where he sent them all into bankruptcy sold off all the assets, lost every dime they all made, just remember the good times when the banks were handing out money like candy and he bought everything that wasn't nailed down, price was not a concern..............
