ABF | Change of Ops

Jeff, thanks brother. With the way you keep us informed maybe you should run for Prez of this here union. Truckingboards.com keepin us informed!!

Gentelmen, When ABF gets done with us and with the Unions help, the only thing different with us and a non-union company will be $64.00 dollars a month.

Not going to happen with us. We as a whole stay informed. If I learned nothing else during the Beg back Scam the TEXASS TURNCOAT tried it was that we network very well. But I will say that Road Drivers had better think long and hard before turning down UE jobs. I can see that the UE positions will be the thing of the future for the union trucking industry.

We will be the ones choosing our destiny not hoffa and the TEXASS TURNCOAT! STAY INFORMED!(BS KILLS) YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

To survive in this business a company needs to evolve with time. ABF is showing a recognition of this need and an ability and willingness to do so. People in general don't like change but it is coming so get used to it. At least we're still earning our wages and getting raises every April. I see these changes a positive thing.

Do you understand what you are saying? Everything that was fought for for years is worth nothing and for what. I still will have the same Idiot as a terminal manager, same dispatcher that makes more mistakes in one day that cost us at least 1 custumer a month and yet you think CHANGE is the way of the future. I fell sorry for you because unless ABF changes the way management runs the terminals nothing they do will mean anything.

Sounds to me like they need to change your terminal. Most terminals are run pretty well. Sure sometimes you have to wonder, but you realy dont think every where is the same, do you? Change does suck, but you cant stay the same if the bussiness your in is changing.

We definitely need management change at our terminal also to improve morale and customer relations. But that is on a local level. But we are in a world that changes constantly around us and if we don't evolve with it we will cease to exist. I don't just think change is the way of the future is has been the way of the past. I don't love the company, I love my paycheck and need to keep it coming for a while yet. I am not in favor of cutting jobs, I am in favor of conforming to the customers' needs. In case you haven't noticed the landscape in the freight industry has changed dramatically with FedEx and UPS getting into freight and the bastards are cutting our throats with their lower than cost freight rates. I have to wonder if they really know what it costs to move a piece of freight or if they just set a rate and see how it goes.

Is there an exact date set yet for the hearing? I know the cover sheet on the Change proposal stated they wanted it to be heard the week of the 21st.

I haven't heard anything on a date. It would be nice if our union would keep us up to date on these things but it seems that pulling them away from the buffet table long enough to inform us is asking for too much.

It said that the hearing would be at a convenient location. Will they all be enjoying a trip to Hawaii or will it be Vegas?

I have heard that they've taken a liking to San Diego. Beautiful weather is almost guaranteed and you can hop a bus to Tijuana if you get bored and need a little excitement. Hey gringo, I have a seester that I am sure you will like very much.
