Yellow | need help..was forced to work 14 hrs in yard yesterday

I might be misconstruing the original post, but it sounds to me like you voluntered to work Sunday for the overtime instead of doing what normal people do on Sunday, relaxing. You wanted overtime, they gave you a belly full. What are you crying about? Next time, stay home on Sunday.

All i asked from this thread was does anyone know what the overtime rules are concerning the contract ok , a simple Q...the members who responded with advise ..........thanks , the ******* DOUCHBAGS who are telling me to stay home or suck it up , calling me a kitty....thank you to for letting me know who the ******* rats are.....thanks brothers

I agree with you 100%! 10 hours is long enough to spend in that dump let alone 14 of getting the horse whip across your back. The only ones that don't want to do anything about it is the ones that have gotten themselves so far into debt putting on that big show to keep up with the zollars' of this world.
If they want to be rich, let them get elected to onion office!

PS: They're too cheap to put an add in the paper, they'll send a guy out to 290 and Military rd with a sign, "Will hire anyone, no speak-ee the english ok senor, gracias"!

You guys are funny, I don't care who you are, that's funny.

What's complete B.S. about this is that the f-ing moron that runs the yard "the great communicator" Larry M. has 20 yard bids when he should have 30! They just rip the same people off the dock everyday. That idiot claims they "don't need anyone" on Mondays, yet they bring in the same guy for an extra punch on the same shift every Monday! The real problem here is that our elected officials in the "Ivory Palace" should be demanding that they bring people back to work. I mean don't they want more members back to work.........after all it is more union dues, right? Maybe then they could get rid of the 5 dollar assesment that they so desperately need to keep things running on Englewood Avenue. Oh, and if the company's position is that they are in such dire straits for yard qualified people then PUT ON SOME MORE YARD BIDS AND CALL SOME PEOPLE BACK TO WORK YOU IDIOTS!

i like a some ot as much as the next guy and adding bids may affect the hours available but it would really help the pension to get out of the mess its in if additional guys were working / contributing.........but its less expensive to mantain the statis que..so its not going to happen

Brothers ? The brotherhood ship sailed when the union left town.

True , the Teamsters have no real power right now , the unions hands are tied for the forseeable future becuse yrcw's condition allows this and we all know that everyone has and will allways be out for themselves (overtime / vacation bid)...ive seen it for the past 22yrs.

Damn them Orioles.

What do Earl Weaver, Hank Bauer, Brooks and Frank Robinson (my heroes), Jim Palmer, Pat Dobson, Curt Blefary, Moe Drobosky, Mike Cuellar, Dave McNally, Davy Johnson, Cal Ripkin, Boog Powell, Steve Barber, and Tommy Phoebus have to do with the Teamsters?????? (Unless it was that the minor league Baltimore Oriloes moved to NY in 1906, became the Highlanders, then changed to become the Yankees??? Those guys, I agree with you on....) Now Mark Belanger WAS an Alternate Union Head of the MLBPA before he died.....

A lot of you boys, are starting to sound like me. I LIKE THAT. It just took a litte longer for everyone to get their bite of the :::shit::: sandwich .:9529::fingure:

I know it does not apply in your case, Southern Region we
have to be notified prior to end of regular shift that we
will be required to work OT, and cannot be forced over 3 hours of OT.

3 hours, only if it's clean up night like friday. 2 hours mon-thurs.

If you had stayed home a let and let a laid off guy work. you wouldnt have this problem would you? Greed will screw you every time.
went in for ot sunday and got forced 2 over then an hour later dispather calls me in and says tm talked to the hall (buffalo) and said they can make me work 14 which they did...it was not fun...after a few calls by some coworkers we got conflicting info back... they are supposedly going to work on this today .is there anything in the contract about forced ot , i know they can force 2 hrs.
