Yellow | YRC- Line Lexington(Lansdale,PA) Terminal

I don't know who you're working for now, but if a company that's (been mismanaged to death's doorstep, smoothered under a mountain of debt, kicks the prior management to the curb years too late, brings in new management with a new Board of Directors that immediately gets down to the business of giving itself a juicy raise, abuses the employees they took money from to finance the raises for the Big Fat Board of Directors, will let (require) you work 70-80 hours a week so you get the feeling you're not as poorly compensated as you really are etc. etc.)..... if all that sounds like the what you're looking for, go for it.

:Violin::crybaby::6817:

Massive raise?

No, I said "juicy raise".

edit; I consider a 50% raise juicy, I think most Teamsters would be very happy with a 50% raise and consider it quite "juicy". But then again I could be wrong, I'm not too good at math but I do think a raise from $50,000 to $75,000 is a 50% raise.

Here's a question.....If it's union and need drivers, don't they just take people from the hall to fill position? Does Teamster LU have an out of work list to sign when you get laid off?

You funny!!! A hiring hall at a teamster local!!! Perhaps, but ours did away with that decades ago. Now, if you have been one of the local BA's lap dogs and licked a ton of onion butt they just might let you in on a company that has an opening.
Ask a CF guy how much the onion helped them get a job!!! Here the only help they got was sign up for unemployment and to make sure to keep your dues current pep speech, at the full **** no less. Most said :fingure: and took a withdrawl card.
Just living the dream buddy!!!

PS: We'll make you see such ugliness through our words about yrc you'll be knocking down the door at Roger's Mule Nuts Truck Lines!

Hey I'm missing something here... Yrc is a mega carrier, just an unstable one. you meant a mega truckload carrier. Hey like another poster said take a chance on
the POS. Then ditch when you get the skills. SWI

Yes , thats what I meant(Truckload)

turbo, you need to get out more. That's so 1980's. Today all you need is flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt, both with stains in the usual places.

You're right but they're still paying 80s wages! Kinda of like yrc!

As far as the attire you mentioned, thats what they wear at the san franciso terminal!

the way you worded your post would make one think that the current board members got a raise...your math is off a tad bit.

When was the last wage raise (contract)for the members? If board members raise their salary, don't you members got to vote on it? I'm not a teamster member, but just wondering how it runs. You guys have monthly meetings?

And his math is dead on.
remind me not to have you negotiate my pay raise... 50 to 75 is not 50%

75,000 a year and they give me vested interest in a failing company, and my job is to protect the shareholders assets,I just took on mission impossible, what a deal!!

Sorry, it is 50%. 50% of $50,000 is $25,000. That is what their compensation was increased by, $25,000.
You do realize that these Board members have real jobs or are retired executives. They drop in for a Board meeting once a quarter, try to stay awake through the meeting, have a nice meal and a cocktail or two on the companies dime. Michael Kneeland, the Chairman of the Compensation Committee, the one that just gave themselves a raise, is the CEO of United Rentals, Inc. Just how much time do you think he spends worrying about YRC? These executives love to get these Board positions to pick up some walking around money because yes it is a deal.

I must have read the article wrong, thought there was some bonus's in there,I was thinking it was more than 50...but what the heck.

The board of directors are the highest governing authority within the management, they hold your nuts and squeeze them.

yea right....Kneeland is a nine figure executive...

And don't forget about the turbans.

He is referring to the YRC board of directors, not the local union executive board. But the answer to your question is NO we don't get to vote on giving them a raise, they give themselves whatever they want and pay at election time if they get too out of control.

Raises for what is formerly known as the National Master Freight Agreement come on April 1 each year.

YRC is desperate for drivers. They have no retirement plan, giveback on the pay, treat employees like garbage. The company financially is a zombie that will fall into the grave soon. They need drivers because their employees are jumping ship left and right. Yellow is, has been, and always will be a POS company that sucks the life out of its employees, shareholders, and aquisitions. I would pay the fuel and tolls to stay away from this toilet of a trucking company.

Well why don't you take your own advice and quit. If it is such a bad place to work, then why are you still there?
