XPO | Union Debate and News

Not gonna argue politics with ya brutha, Just trying to have some intelligent conversation. I don't have blinders on , just trying to be optimistic. I sense alot of anger with you. Remember, like you said before...your'e 'livin the dream' We want you guys to join us not fight us. so I'm sure as hell not gonna get on here to fight & insult y'all. :P

Not meant to be angry at all. And I am not sure how you cannot see the huge loses the unions have taken. But then it says you are in Virginia. I am up here in Ohio. My family, my friends and even myself have likely been much more effected.

Different breed of people alive today.its all me me me.if one of their commrads gets canned.that's great if that's a senior man.and that junior man sees an oppurtunity to move up in rank.even if that junior man was there and saw the injustice.
No unity whatso ever.even in a non union enviroment.nobody cares about anyone else but themselves.yes sir boss yes sir boss.anything for you boss man.some of these people don't realize what's going on.

It is a good spot for people to chime in. Most of the talk hasn't even been union based. It's a good spot for a quick post to be seen.

Here is your boss's pay...
In 2010, Douglas W. Stotlar received $3,738,746 in total compensation. By comparison, the average worker made $34,053 in 2011. Douglas W. Stotlar made 110 times the average worker's pay.

What could he be doing that justifies him making this much more than his workers, Con-Way could easily pay a pension plus lower out of pocket costs for its employees health benefits, wake up people.

That's not high for ceo pay. Besides nobody is going to take the job if you don't pay them good. Stockholders want somebody they can trust to run a company. Its nit just conway freight..its Con-way inc. Its the way business is done..it'll never change. Why don't you apply for the job..oh wait..you have to have an education.

Do you honestly believe that what he is doing is rocket science? We move freight from point a to b and its been done for a long time, this is a direct result of deregulation ceo's make 110 times more than the people who actually make the money. That is why there use to be a strong middle class where the pay gap was reasonable.

beerfd, his job is to hire anti union attorneys donate to groups like alec and make sure that workers NEVER organize as long as he can do this he and the board will be compensated at 110 times and more, its only class war fare when we fight back. While wages were stagnant these guys continued to make millions, and its just not con way its straight across the top ltl carriers, ups 13.6 million to Saia 2 million. Instead of union jobs bringing up non unions as used to be the case its now non unions lowering union jobs down or completely out. How anyone can argue that this a good thing is beyond me.

Good for you, you must run line haul. Most Con Way drivers dont make half that and if your not worried why make a comment. I do because I was teamster for 20 years and thanks to my brothers before me who fought for my working conditions I'll be able to retire with a pension. I will forever be grateful its sad to see today's workers like yourself who only care about "me" its exactly what the company counts on. They take care of a few and screw the rest. The P & D drivers get screwed bad start times non guaranteed hours on and on there is no seniority rights you may think you have em but you dont.

You must not work here. Because you really don't make sense. Con-way pays very well. It has to. No one would deal with all the crap if they didn't. I am less than 3 years in. No where near top out. Made $60K plus every year.

No one trusts pensions. Underfunded garbage from a previous era. If you guys actually cared about anyone but " you ", there would be reform to address entitlements. So that pensions and medicare and social security would be solvent and meaningful to young workers. But that might cost " you " something. And you aren't will to step up for anyone but " you ".

A 401K belongs to me. So does money in my pocket.
