Does any terminals use 4-10's? Being considered at our place because it was used in the past. Wondering how it was being implemented. Is the schedule tied to the bid? Do you bid the run then bid the schedule? Any morning or evening dock tied to bid? Just needing lots of info. Thanks guys.

Just letting you know how we do it at YRC. The majority of the workers have to vote for the 10 hour bids. The company just can't put it up. When I did have a 10 hour bid years ago, it was a midnight to 10 am. one of us off wednesday and 1 off thursday. I know we have a different contract than you but just letting you know.

As long as it is still overtime after 8 hours a day!!!,....................

Don't ever think about giving that up!!

My terminal did that to us, We had to vote through the union to do it. They threatened us if we didn't do it, They would take territory away from us and there would be a big layoff.

so u rather see people getting layed off so u can have your over time

That is not what I said,...

If I am going to work over 8 a day I get overtime,.....

If the company only wants to work a driver 8 hours a day then they need to put more drivers to work,..

Just my 2 cents, when I was still a city driver for Overnite,& UPS Freight.
A few of us city slugs at the top of the heap would take some vacation days,so the ones at the bottom of the pile could get some work.
In the long haul we call life here on earth,it is better to help your fellow mankind out when you can.
Instead of being selfish,as there is a simple principle that works even though you don't believe in anything.
Farmers call it sowing & reaping, but to make it even more simple,'What goes around, comes around!

What I am trying to say is that the company wants guys to work long days without paying OT,.....Then you hit 40 and go home,.....

I'm sorry, But if the company want's me to go over 8 hours a day I want the OT,....

If the company want's me to go home at 8 hours, Then so be it,.............................

I remember when they used to do this if was nice to take cc days and help the lower guys out. The tm we got now doesn't allow this, even when we call off sick he doesn't work the %ers.
