Yellow | Linehaul Layoffs For 1/1/12?

Thanks to all of you who have posted numbers ! That's why TB is great getting real time info out there ! Once again thanks everyone .

STL(621)has about 140 linehaul drivers. 78 active,the rest layed-off

You missed all the ones in the parking lot at the rail. Some on the rail were empties coming back from CA.
 
Layoffs are when the mesters quit crying and start salivating so they can even get 6 and 7 punch weeks.Always great to pay-off there Christmas expenses.
 
Thats funny because the 'mesters' where I work dont want any extra time. They would let everyone else run around until midnight so they could go home.
 
2 more men laid off today (effective Sunday) @ 211/Akron bringing the total in the last 3 weeks to 18 for the dock/yard.

That's correct Todd, sad to say. When I started in 2000 I was #236 on the board, now I'm #81 and layed off for the 5th time. you probably did the right thing by staying at Lively Grove
 
I was beginning to wonder! I"m laid off now myself. We got that thing fired up and running so they don't need many of us any more but we do have some big work coming up as soon as the weather breaks and the fed and state loosen the purse strings. Sorry to hear that 621 is still struggling. Hope the best for you guys. We need die hard freight drivers! All of us including the drivers in beverage and construction. You guys set the standard for what happens in many different parts of our trade.
 
Hopefully some of those call backs will make their way down to 621(STL). Theres a lot of good Teamsters down there that have been getting crapped on by YRC for several years now.
