All over but the crying. Well there will likely still be plenty of that.

Most of what people said would happen, turned out to be true. These people refuse to get along. Senior guys wanted to be in charge. Junior guys trying to get invloved. And both sides having vicious arguements instead of productive discussions. Power struggles interupted by taunts and threats. Guys being bullied and belittled just to show off. Hard to work together when there is zero respect. Let alone accomplish something more.

I have worked here a very short time. One thing is very clear to me. If you want a long a successful career. Be hated. Don't ever be happy. If you are happy. People want to know why. They want to take what ever it is that is that is making you happy. They will lie, cheat and steal from you to make sure you are not happy any more.

But if you are hated. Well this is the one time they are honest. Straight to your face and up front about things. It is the most sincere thing these guys know.

The company never had to do a thing. None of this ever had a chance.

I guess your confirming it is dead? You were one of the ones behind the movement in LTU were you not?
Yeah it's all my fault for the disruption at ltu... I will take full responsibility for employees wanting better working conditions and a little respect . I'm guilty !

That's not what I asked. I simply want to know if the movement is dead. I don't blame you for your opinion or actions. I don't agree with them but every one is entitled to their own.

It sure was an awful big co-incedence that after all the stuff going on with the movement, we all off a sudden had some of our benifits re-stored regarding the 401k and now these one-on-ones like they want everybody's input and now we are getting a raise in april, 2012? Co-incendence..... I probabley spelt that wrong...but I give you guy's credit for taking a stand and putting your necks on the line... That is they way it always has been when it comes to the union, some guys take a stand and everybody benifits from it in the form of higher wages and better benifits, even the ones that cut the guys down that are trying to do something. They should be thankful, I don't get it. I'm not saying I would have even voted for a union, but guys that stick there neck out there deserve some respect....in my opinion....:coffee1::coffee1::coffee1::coffee1:

The company did do something. They gave back some of the wages that were stolen, the gave back some of the 401 match, how much was insurance premiums jacked up like every other year? Conway didn't do this out of the kindness of their hearts, it was due to the THREAT of organization. Imagine what could be accomplished if the movement kept moving forward. The company dangled scraps in front of labor and they caved. In short time, management will begin the cycle again, pushing labor to the breaking point and then backing off. Labor will be happy, thinking they had some sort of victory but will actually be worse off then they were before the cycle began.

pro-movement really is dead if they are pathetic and delusional enough to take credit for some of the companys common senes decisions. it put 's me in mind of the loser in some fight saying that guy was lucky they held me back all the while thanking god they did. Sorry but union talk has done nothing but waste time and make for some comical arguements. you are welcome to take credit for that

A common sense decision from the company's standpoint would have been to not restore anything that was taken. A common sense decision from the company's standpoint would be to take more in wages and make you pay more for benefits. You are either blind or stupid if you think that the company didn't restore what was taken if it hadn't been for the threat of the union movement. Why else would they have done it? What would be their incentive? And no I don't want or deserve any credit for anything.

And yet you can't refute my statements or answer the questions I put forth. I hope you don't choke on the kool-aid, because the company won't go out of its way to revive you.

i just think even the phrase union movement is an exaggeration. never saw any reps at the gates or any other type of organized effort or presence...just some guys sneaking around handing out cards and complaining. your telling me this led a company to do something? when things were taken they said they would rturn in better times and they did end of story.

I disagree with that, if all it was.....was some guy's sneaking around and complaining, why did the company take time to put together a video and fly the brass around to these certain terminals. Seems like they took it pretty serious to me...:coffee1:

Look, give the guy a break, who cares who started this crap, is it realy any surprise that know one wants to get envolved in all the Unions gloom and doom let alone pay for that right, besides every one knows the Teamsters have turned their backs on freight!

Restored benefits had just as much to do with unhappy employees as it did with competitors increase to their compensation. There is a driver shortage. It is going to get much worse. Very soon the difference between succuss and failure will be directly linked to the ability to keep CSA qualified drivers. This is why they have confronted us. This is why they are trying to maintain their " flexibilty " with labor. The power is shifting. They don't like that.

With three years in I can quit today and be topped out anywhere else before I would be topped out here if I stay. I stay for personal reasons. I am not much of a truck driver. If I was. The high turn over rate has provided me an excellent network to get into the big money. I now know people working for just about any company you can imagine. Doing all various types of driving. This opportunity has been a blessing in more ways than I even understand.

Did you eve think that maybe the majority of the drivers don't want the union. I don't want to work for a union company, if I did I wouldn't be here. None of the drivers I spoke with wanted the union. I worked a union job a long time ago and they did not come thru on any of their promises. This is a free country, all the union supporters should go and work for a union company and leave us alone. I make a pretty good living here and I have no complaints.

I don't want the union either, but what I do want is to get the absolute most for my services that the market will bear. AND I'd like to get equal treatment to my brothers up north and out west just because the company has more to worry about with the union in those areas than they do here in the sunny south.

Now we agree on that and I'm in the North, got your back on that one.....:coffee1:.... I do try to put myself in other peoples shoes, and look at things like that

Move to California..then you we won't have to listen to you complain any more.

I'm not going to get into the whole union debate, but I think the union has definitely outlived its usefulness. And I def dont want the union here at conway. Union workers always have something to cry about and always have this air of entitlement about them. So let this union movement die, I hope..
