wow, I'm sorry to hear about this. This is why I move to the left lane when i see a cop pulling someone over to the right side. Its safer for everybody, and if u cant pull to the left lane then just slow down and stay in ur lane.
 
if i am in front of a few trucks and i cant move over i like to use my 4 ways to let the person behind me known that something is wrong.......
 
Yes I agree throw on the 4 ways and at least slowdown if you can't pull to the left.
Nobody's life is worth taking by someone who is in a hurry and can't make a logical decision to keep the shoulder clear of danger.
