What happened last timed they had an inventory?

They found out that they were missing a crap load of tractors and forklifts due to parting them out. They were parting out tractors that were still owned by the bank. The remains of the forks ended up being a boat anchor somewhere.

pretty pathetic when you still owe on something that is considered scrap. just goes to show how the people in power make decisions here. :TR10driving03:

Last job i had did terminal inventory 1 week later the auctioneer guys were there selling everything. 2 weeks after that they closed up

Actually I noticed this when i started here, only outbound trailers are tracked. If we do a drop and hook where there is 5 trailers, dispatch DID NOT want the number, "we will figure it out tomorrow when we reload it" I hope the new boss also watches out of service, our evening guys will remove out of service tags on brake and other issues and ship them out on linehaul to shove off on another terminal, gee, if the shoes were bad enough for me to put out of service, it does not belong on the road going anywhere!!!! If I knew where they were going I would call the DOT and advise, but obviously I am home by the time it leaves

Where is this happening? We don't have an on-sight garage and I could use a part or two.:27:

The inventory is just so they can reassign equipment to where it will be best utilized. That is how they did things at Fed Ex which is why we are doing teh same thing now. This inventory will be done daily until they go computerized.

Not to mention find out how much has "walked away" over the years. If you are taking a depreciation on equipment, and get an audit, they can make you show them that equipment.

Wouldn't that be embarrassing :15:
