Yellow | YRC April 2012 COO Has Been Canceled Until Furthur Notice

YRC can't produce anything that looks like a profit, and their new guy Rogers is wanting to spend money on new paint, signage and a huge COO. The banks said hold on! Only the regional carriers, Holland, New Penn, Reddaway, and Reimer can show a profit, but if they close YRC, those regional drivers will possibly snap back to full NMFA wages and benefits. You take the regional (utility) operation out of YRC in the COO, and it loses more money, because it drops at least 8 to 10 thousand bills a day. The investors are trying to figure out how to keep Holland, New Penn, Reddaway, and Reimer open at the current wage concessions, and dump YRC. They sold the USF Glen Moore truckload division to Celadon, but they were not Teamsters. It will be complicated, and require the Union and members to cooperate. Tyson Johnson don't have time for all that, he has a new contract with ABF to negotiate, and UPS is coming up to. The YRC circus has been handed over to Sweeney by default. There is no conspiracy in the IBT, and the company runs freight around hubs all the time. One mad local didn't stop this COO, the investors did. Too costly, and no money to pay for it, and they ain't gonna loan them no more! So glad I got hired at ABF in July and got away from YRC. Good luck guys, but it isn't looking so good, with no earnings, I mean losses, posted for the 4th quarter yet. There is a word for it, when you owe more than you make, it's bankrupt. Then the BANK (investors) own you, and they call the shots. But, there is so much big money tied up in this deal they are going to bleed it all they possibly can before letting the gavel fall and putting it on the auction block. If you senior guys over there are still getting all that OT to keep the junior guys laid off, so they don't have to pay their benefits, SAVE some money, you're probably gonna need it real soon!

My humble opinion. Right now I'm a pundit, comes to pass I may be called a prophet :cool:

Since you work for a competitor (ABF) now, and you don't want YRC freight to survive. Go spend more of your time on the ABF forum, and make your prophet calls!

The COO HEARING has now been rescheduled for 3/14 - 3/15/12 in Kansas City, MO......KK
what about our thousands of grievances on velocity work from over the past 2 years and the mou greivances over a year old that I am still writing on a daily basis. How come when the company wants to negotiate to stick it in our a#s the international drops what they are doing to sit down with them.

Never said I didn't want YRC to survive, voted for the concessions, and busted my butt there until I got another opportunity. Perhaps, Welch and Rogers are miracle workers! I want all the Teamster jobs that can possible be preserved! But the YRC Worldwide organization was created to bust the Union, and ABF was approached to join, but they were not for sale! They have a target on their back now, and we will probably have a tough contract negotiation next year. Hopefully, I can keep my health and get in 7 more solid years, and put it to pasture! YRC has a deep hole to dig out of though! Good luck!

Whatever happens, keep in mind, that YOU are your first line of defense...

Bowers v. Devito, 686 F.2d 616 (7th Cir. 1982) (There is no constitutional right to be protected by the state against being murdered by criminals or madmen. It is monstrous if the state fails to protect its residents against such predators but it does not violate the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, or, we suppose, any other provision of the Constitution. The Constitution is a charter of negative liberties; it tells the state to let the people alone; it does not require the federal government or the state to provide services, even so elementary a service as maintaining law and order.); (No duty to protect) = Rule 12(b)(6) Motion to Dismiss;Cf. Reciprocial obligations;

The PROPOSED COO is just that....PROPOSED means just that.....what has been put out there could be chnaged whill being presented at the hearing.....it could be more....it could be less.....could be better....might be even worse.....so I PROPOSE we just wait until it is heard.....KK

Thanks! Not getting any younger, so I hope it pans out, but I just try to take it one day at a time. In a perfect world, the U.S. economy picks back up, YRCW survives and gets back to full NMFA, the Union campaign at Fed Ex is successful and they come under the NMFA, then we organize OD, and ConWay and have a strong membership again! Excuse me, Think I'm having a VISION! Nah, probably just dreaming....ZZZZ

Yet I don't see you refuting his points?

I would like to know where the money is coming from? I guess the answer is, "thanks Teamsters"

Well, thanks there slim66, I was just giving an opinion. That said, If you are getting forced OT at YRCW and you save your money, and THEY do survive, you will have a nice bank balance, if they don't, YOU will have the money to SURVIVE till you find another job, and myself, I'll not be making any significant purchases until ABF gets a new contract. Pundit or Prophet, that's just sound advice. As for as ABF being a competitor, YRCW desperately needs competitors like ABF to get the freight rates up! Last time I checked they could really use some positive revenue off all them trailers they are filling up! Ya'll have a safe week :cool:

This COO was approved by the investors before it was sent to the IBT....they approved of, and will be paying for, the moving and relocation expenses....they are investing in this COO as they know the Linehaul system is in a hell of a mess, as well as the employeesknowing it is, so lets all hope the investment was well worth it and the holes in this ship gets patched and we are full sail again....KK
