Yellow | Shakeup at the IBT? Need Verification

I appreciate all the info.how is this going to change the landscape?is whoever is in charge,in or out?
Is life at YRC Freight going to be better?is the whole union of large going to be better? Are we going to benefit from it?is it going to be staus quo as usual?
The person that's appearantly going to be in charge.has that person learned a new trick or two.can that person square a hole with a round peg?..just asking.our jobs and possibly our union is at stake here.

On the cover page of the change, the last paragraph reads: "Company representives have personally met with National Freight Division Director Tyson Johnson, Freight Director Gordon Sweeton, and their representives and have had numerous phone conversations with them regarding issues and concerns about this proposed Change of Operation."

All holy heck breaks out. TJ demoted, (thrown under the bus), GS (who was in on it,too) promoted. The only question remains is: Did Hoffa know and when did he. Was TJ and GS doing this on their own, or was Hoffa aware of it?

To quote the English Philospher Pete Townshend: "Old boss, same as the new boss"

Hoffa set him up. Now he's throwing him under the bus to satisfy the blood lust of the angry mob.

I agree totally. POS yellow has always bee a parasite and predatory company. Sucking the life out of good profitable companies and then dumping them off. Yellow should have gone extinct in the 50's and then again in the 80's. Instead they either sucked the blood out of acquired companies or cut the throats of competitors by discounting the crap out of freight rates. FredEx and conjob tried to play this game against them a few years ago and almost beat them at their own game.
Really? That's your professional opinion?

Is this a real article come on kk or R14 Is this a real article I don't think so T-- lost any creditability with any article being true after they cover up the 150,000 club lets face it they put number 4 as cover boy for its story not number one made well over 120,000 over any body on the list as a fact him and number 2 at 710 were top 2 in country is there really any way to check the creditability of any of there story ? answer no.

Huh????? Slow down, think it through, and for gosh sakes, USE A COMMA AND A PERIOD ONCE IN A WHILE!!

YRC can't produce anything that looks like a profit, and their new guy Rogers is wanting to spend money on new paint, signage and a huge COO. The banks said hold on! Only the regional carriers, Holland, New Penn, Reddaway, and Reimer can show a profit, but if they close YRC, those regional drivers will possibly snap back to full NMFA wages and benefits. You take the regional (utility) operation out of YRC in the COO, and it loses more money, because it drops at least 8 to 10 thousand bills a day. The investors are trying to figure out how to keep Holland, New Penn, Reddaway, and Reimer open at the current wage concessions, and dump YRC. They sold the USF Glen Moore truckload division to Celadon, but they were not Teamsters. It will be complicated, and require the Union and members to cooperate. Tyson Johnson don't have time for all that, he has a new contract with ABF to negotiate, and UPS is coming up to. The YRC circus has been handed over to Sweeney by default. There is no conspiracy in the IBT, and the company runs freight around hubs all the time. One mad local didn't stop this COO, the investors did. Too costly, and no money to pay for it, and they ain't gonna loan them no more! So glad I got hired at ABF in July and got away from YRC. Good luck guys, but it isn't looking so good, with no earnings, I mean losses, posted for the 4th quarter yet. There is a word for it, when you owe more than you make, it's bankrupt. Then the BANK (investors) own you, and they call the shots. But, there is so much big money tied up in this deal they are going to bleed it all they possibly can before letting the gavel fall and putting it on the auction block. If you senior guys over there are still getting all that OT to keep the junior guys laid off, so they don't have to pay their benefits, SAVE some money, you're probably gonna need it real soon!

Thank You pilot108 it just erks me when an article is printed and posted from T-- and any one calls that creditability.
Call the phone number posted for the IBT I did and the Secretary of the freight division is telling anyone that calls and ask.

Can't argue with your screen name, that's for sure.

TurnCoat moniker

Well there's a story behind that screen name, I was the senior guy at YRC in Montgomery, AL, and a guy at ABF was retiring. I knew the TM at ABF for 25 yrs., and he hired me. One of my buddies at YRC named me TurnCoat when he found out I was gonna jump ship. I had been reading the boards a bit, but never joined. So, when I did I just took that moniker. Just to let my buddy know if the coat fits, you gotta wear it! Never looked back, but I wish it could turn around for YRC, for all our sakes, but it don't look so good. :frown:

I hear that, being at this company for 31 years, I know that the union people are for the most part, hard working. We have those that are bums but they are few. We at Yellow and Roadway use to wear the name proudly. They have tried to destroy us and it has not worked. Even companies tried to destroy us, going into debt and salivating for the day when our doors would come down, including your own company, that you now work for. We are still here. I suggest to all, fair days work for a fair days pay. Be safe and careful, don't give the company any opportunity to write you up for anything. Amen
