Rumor has it that the IBT and ABF have agreed to a deal with the COO that was deadlocked last August. No details as of yet! Here was the proposed COO:

YOU have done such a great job you deserve a cheerleader.

Hey I have some mountain property in Florida are you interested. And Hey the checks in the mail. YOUR TRU$TING BROTHER ALWAY$!

eeeee are you saying that ABF is still looking to ask us to take a 15% cut?

Well Turncoat I may need to explain how we the ABF Teamsters of old look at this agreement. We were disrespected by not having working knowledge of the negotiations and what was and wasn't acceptable to US!
With us it is more of a respect thing. If you remember the yrc mess you were given no information or any say so other than YES OR NO!

You were never shown the books of a financially ruined company. You were just told to accept it. Well they tried the same thing here and we put the information out and an informed decision was made. We don't hate our company we just understand that they are a company.

As far as them and their profits we view it as we will turn them a profit and we will get our share of which we feel our families are entitled too because of the time we are away from them.
And as far as wanting to be back on a time table with yrc. You may want to remember that old saying(Be careful what you wish for)We the ABF Teamsters can not out vote them. So do you really want that?
I am not posting this as a reprimand to you just a reminder that things are a little different here. We make money the old fashion way. Both company and Teamsters do their jobs and the end result is a profit.
Now do I think ABF needs to make a larger profit? YES but it will not be at a lose lose situation for us Teamsters. Our CEO is now in line to make well over a million dollars a year and they want to cut just the Teamsters benefits and wages. Not here at ABF we won't stand for that.
And as far as what you think will be in our next contract. We have to see the books and as for the orphans that is a touchy subject with me.

I will fight to the end to protect the retired and their surviving spouses benefits. After all our higher ups have a fully funded pension plan and we just paid for an extra multimillion dollar pensions for Wes and Mr. Young on top of their normal LARGE PENSIONS!
But we the ABF Teamsters do not begrudge them of this but we expect them to leave our retirement ALONE.
And don't forget if yrc goes out then all your years there would be considered as ORPHAN years and you would fall under that entitlement package if the retirees of closed companies are moved to the PBGC. So let's just slow down and see what the facts are and go from there. YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

10-4....Just in my humble opinion, I think the company is going to have some leverage at the table, being that the latest Judge said they did have standing with their lawsuit, and the Teamster's give back at YRCW was unprecedented. I think the Union (and ABF as well) will want to get all the union membership base they can back on the same contract cycle, for their own purposes, the IBT as well as ABF, and I think they will get us something to vote on early, to test the waters. I never made any bones about voting for the concessions at YRCW, didn't like it, but I was convinced they couldn't survive without it, and they still may not. I think that Wall Street bunch is trying to figure out how to keep YRC Regional open, If YRC Freight closes. Hopefully, if that does happen the IBT can enforce the snap back provisions for those companies if they are allowed to stay in business. ABF is a great outfit, and when I ran Utility to the ATL barn, it was the same atmosphere in the larger operation. Preserving my pension was the top motivating factor for me coming to ABF, but I gave up 4 weeks vacation, and the top spot, and have 23.5 solid full contribution years paid in to the fund, after ABF pays 12 months, I will be back on the old NMFA plan with 24.5 yrs., I won't be an orphan then, I will be ADOPTED! Then I will be your little brother! Snotty nose and all! I am anxious to see what they come up with, anything reasonable I will give it a thumbs up!

I don't think we will ever be on the same time with YRC again. With all the give backs YRC still has not made an money.
They are still cutting rates and are pretty much the cheapiest carrier out there. Their rates sill are to low. All they are
doing is filling trailers with cheap freight for a cash flow. This is why YRC did not release earning yet they canceled it.
YRC will show another big lost for the quarter. I do agree that ABF will have some kind of advantage because of the
lawsuit. We will need to stick together and watch our backs. Also we will need to get the facts and get them out to
everyone to make an informed choice at contract time. Just don't take the word of the IBT.

In my opinion Tyson the TURNCOAT has burned all his bridges when it comes to TRUST! He out right lied I felt during the ABF BEG BACK. And the reason I feel he lied is that the economist that gave his stamp of approval that ABF would be broke in a few months is still working at the IBT.
Now would it not have been a reason for termination if he had made such a BLUNDER? If not then that should be proof that we are not cared for as a whole by the IBT.
Not one person was fired or demoted because of the lies we were told. If you all remember ABF never said they were broke it was the IBT doing all the smack talk. No we will take charge of our own destiny by the way we vote on ABF matters.

REMEMBER OUR COLORS ARE GREEN FOR A REASON! YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

Hey that's my little sister!

That's odd...she never mentioned that fact...but then again...we weren't doing much talking...lol Hey Muler...when is your family reunion coming up and am I invited? You have three more sisters...right?

Yeah but the one you posted is the ugly duckling sister.

The only one getting any buyout is the Pension Fund to release ABF out of long term liabilty. ABF has been given the price and cannot come up with the money. Two the pension funds are not looking to release any more company's out. Three most ABF Teamster will not give a Yes vote to release them from the existing fund.

When was ABF given a buyout figure and what was it? I was not aware that this had occurred.

We all know big changes are coming. I hope the lawsuit against YRC an IBT is still on. That's our only hope for our retirement. Any driver out there that can retire better go now because that is going to change too. We need to keep an eye on IBT and hope the turn coat from Texas goes home for good. A new Freight Director before contract talks begin is a great start!
