Remember the day when the drivers looked out for one another? I really miss those days. Now @ fedex it seems like everyone is out to lookout for themselves. We have drivers who screw each other over because they think they can get a leg up on the next driver. What they fail to realize is....fedex is out for themselves, they dont look out for the drivers, why should they? We are a number....nothing more ...nothing less. It's business, strictly business. It's the next promotion or the next bigger terminal. Moving up the corporate ladder. Business. So the next time you have a great idea to screw over a fellow driver, think twice, next time it might be you.

No, I don't remember the day drivers looked out for one another. And I have been here 17 years. Your "fellow" driver will get you fired here quicker than anything else. Everyone is out for there for themselves, which is why I trust no one. I do my job and go home. I don't need, or want, friends at Fed Ex. I will keep my personal life just that.....personal.

Wow. I bet you are fun to work with.

Why does everyone worry about the other guy ratting them out? Do you all screw up that often that it's a big concern? Be above the rest and you have no worries.

I'm sorry to say I was one of those guys who trampled over as many bodies as it took to get the best run. Coaching sessions didn't help, so they sent me to sensitivity classes. Those classes seem to help, but the insurance only covered part of the cost of the classes, which made me angry. After my sensitivity classes I had to attend my anger management classes. This made me late for work which didn't help the situation. Stay off my sidewalks, I didn't make my gate time again. TP

Above the rest, you bet. Especially since I've retired I don't have to deal with the whiners anymore. Its amazing once you get a little seniority, all these issues will go away.

Unfortunately you are correct. People get away with alot @ our barn 2. No one cares, it's just business. Profit before people.

Overton, you are exactly right. Your fellow driver will get you fired just to move ahead one spot. Damn shame. I live by a motto...dta...don't trust anyone. I myself have been a driver for 17 years myself, as you know things have changed dramatically. I was with watkins, who then became national, now i am with freight. The difference between watkins and fedex is night and day. Watkins treated you like family and took care of you. National was that way @ first and then the corporate side began to show. We are just numbers... Working for a living. Please take this as a friendly response, no way hostile. Thanks

Spent 15 years as a driver trainer. Until i realized i was wasting my time. I don't back-stab anyone or run anyone down. I do my job and go home. I try to take caution when it comes to other drivers. I do look out for myself, but i do not attempt ruin anyone's lively hood. Like so many of these so called " drivers" today.

Do we have a "take care of your buddy" program for weekend work ? Are drivers fudging thier logs to take long runs on the weekends ? Who knows...........

Man sounds like BIG E, some guy or gal ratted me out for talking on my cell phone awhile back, so I got a couple days off, well gee thanks there Mr. brown noser is all I could say, my kid just happend to have a baseball game I could attend on one of those days off. Gotta love the guys or gals that try to make brownie points by trying to screw there fellow driver.

Having been out here 35 years I remember those days. To bad they are long gone for most drivers out on the road today. It's very disheartening the way the world is today. We all share the road, have to put some trust in the driver passing or be passed. There's no respect for another human being today. Why can't we try to get along with everyone on the road regardless of who he or she drives for. For God's sake we're all out there for one reason, make a living for our families and our self. 99% of the companies don't give a hoot about us, easily replaced. Have a little respect, show some courtesy. It's not much to ask for , at least for most of us.
