Yellow | YRC Worldwide Reports Fourth Quarter 2011 Results

My brother in law works management in Cleveland, and doing very well. I gave back 15% and lost my retirement and he goes on like he did before the crash. The IBT needs to look at the fact that we as Teamsters are the only ones that are giving back. I do think YRC management some how are the highest paid in the industry and we are one of the lowest paid. We were sold out!

If that sounds good,why not 70% or 60%? I'll be the first to admit that I voted in favor of the first give back. It's not something I was proud of,I personally thought this country was in A recession and with our help our company would come out of it stronger than before. Little did I realize that not only company but the IBT was lying to me. When the company came back A second time I knew we were in trouble,my first thought like A lot of people on here was fear of losing my job and unable to support my family. But after reflecting on it and listening to Tyson Johnson whimpering on phone messages about how this coutry was in the worst economical times since the great depression I knew we were sold out. I thought about how other union trucklines would view us,not to mention other unions in general. It was then that I decided that enough was enough. All the other ltl lines were staying in buisness without give backs,why us? I always thought that the resoning behind the union was to protect it's members,not sell them out. This is just like having A nuclear weapon, if you don't have the guts to pull the trigger and you enemy knows it.....what good does it do to have it??? The same way A unionized company has to realize that even though we don't want to strike or go out of buisness,this is exactly what will happen if you screw the membership over!!!! I would be p-ssed if I woked at ABF knowing that the company thinks they can do the same with them,and that's exactly what's gonna happen at the next round of negotiations! Sorry this is A little long ,but this really gets me when I see guy's on here saying things like 75% of 100% is better than nothing or maybe we should'nt get hurt at work/ work harder or my favorite one usually preached by the IBT....just be glad you have A job!!!!! Holy h-ll wheres the tylenal !!!!!

Wonderful speech, but what's your alternative, shut them down and pat ourselves on the back telling ourselves what a bunch of bad a** tough Teamsters we are?

Ok I hope you don't mind but i'm going to put in my 4 cents worth (inflation you know)

I work for con-way and know what some of you think about non union lines. The biggest problem I see, and what looks like it would make a huge differance is updating the work rules. I know alot of the time the road drivers spend sitting around is not there fault but the pay they recieve is a large chunk added up thru-out the system, dock workers working slow instead of busting there but. if all of you pitched in and worked like other lines it may pull you out of the woods. The pay between union and non union is real close if not equal, so some not all of the differance has to be in work ruels, amybe you need to look at some kind of 401k instaed of the defined pension plan. and last GET RID OF ALOT OF THE DEAD WEIGHT YOU GUYS ARE PAYING FOR AT THE UNION HALLS, ANYTHING NOT NEEDED SELL AND PUT BACK IN YOUR ACCOUNT, the way i seew it the hall works for you and as such should be responisable to you.

On the surface I liked your post. Then after reading it again your suggestions....Do whatever the boss tells ya....not all bad if the Boss is smart enough to know whats needed and if he really is worried about my Welfare....Work for free if the boss can't do what he's supposed to do,,,move frieght........Don't demand a pension....the Boss can have his but don't be greedy......The last one is just rhetoric and I'll not comment.

Ok......I just don't know where to start, but here it goes.......this company is dead! I don't know why some of you guys can't see the writing on the wall. What more is it going to take? This joke has to end sometime, right? $1.3 BILLION in debt and they're borrowing money to have this change! And some of you guys are cheering it on?! What are they doing with all the money we gave them? Where is it at? They ARE accounting for it! It shows up every week on our checks. This company doesn't own hardly anything. We have no collateral. Why is the bank loaning us money?! I have actually decided I will be happy when I get my lay off letter. This company continues to make one boneheaded decision after another. And this change is just one more idiotic waste of money that will result in more people being placed on lay off and more families stressed having to decide to move.

Sorry dude, but work rules are there for a reason. The problem with drivers waiting for loads doesn't always have to do with the dock. Sometimes relay is waiting for a through load to come in so they'll have a matched set. Sometimes the people in relay are idiots! They'll call drivers off rest but they don't have the man power in the yard to make the loads. And this happens ALL THE TIME!

Well golly, Mr Moderator. I wasn't aware you had license to personally attack people such as you have done me (hypocrite) You don't know me. And you certainly don't have the right to attack me. My opinion is my opinion. THIS CHANGE IS A BAD IDEA! THIS COMPANY IS BADLY MISMANAGED! THE END CAN'T BE TOO FAR AWAY! These are my opinions........and if you want to disagree, by all means. I have worked at Roadway Express since 1988. Roadway died the day Yellow bought us.. .we just didn't know it would take this long to die!
 
They'll call drivers off rest but they don't have the man power in the yard to make the loads. And this happens ALL THE TIME!

I look just fine in the mirror while I am on company time. Thanks for your concern for my mental health. I continue to work here for the simple reason you do,a paycheck and that's all,nothing more.I show up everyday,but i must say i mostly man the lifeboats now,more than anything.
