March 7/12 Pedestrian fatally struck on Highway 401, near Kitchener, Ontario

Reports indicate the woman was struck by a dump truck, which was then rear-ended by a Superior Propane truck. The two drivers were not injured.


OPP Staff Sgt. John Mraud says "Under the circumstances [the drivers] are doing okay but keeping in mind what just occurred, they're shaken up."

mustangsally thanks for your collision report from Canada,our northern neighboring country.
I know there are a lot of collisions on the 401,it is odd none of the reports say where the woman was on the highway?
The 401 is really busy,I can't imagine walking anywhere near that road?

Crossing the 401 is equivalent to crossing I 75. I know she was in the eastbound lane when she was hit. The road was still closed as of 6pm. and all secondary roads are completely at a stand still. I will post an updated article tomorrow.
