FedEx Freight | Highest Number New Trailer

Why not the oldest / lowest number while we're at it? Perhaps x out the last digit or two, if you're concerned your manager will pull numbers to find our top secret identities?? ;)

I passed a set pulling a P5XXX trailer last week. Sure was a pretty color rust. I counted 8 patches on the left side.

Didnt they refurbish R1 and present it to Sheridan on his birthday?

If I remember right that's not the real R1. One of those old dispatch mag. had it in there. I believe a shop employee found it in the junk yard and convinced a boss to fix up. It was a low number but not R1.

Im sure your right, the original R1 was probably long gone.

I'm not sure if we have hit P30000 yet. The highest I have seen P299xx. They are now running new set to the FedEx Express employee parking lot due to IND yard being full of scrap trailers and Dolly's and new trailers. You cant hook a set in some areas. We have even had to put Dolly's in our parking lot and ship some out. We sent 30 to CGT last week and we still have a good stock pile. Pulling a set somewhere then pulling a van back is really screwing up the equipment rotation. I asked central one night on a via of I could leave the empty since we have more than enough in our yard. The response was no.

That's because these stupid colleges these days don't teach the bean counters how to keep track of our pup, van and Dollie pool???

It's pretty difficult stuff ya know???:LMAO:

I remember when Viking bought some of those two story Fords, otherwise known as CL9000. The first ones were like R1, what a rough ride. The second generations were air ride extended cabs. You could run over railroad tracks at 50 miles an hour. That was part of the problem, parts kept falling off. They took a little getting used to with the air ride and power steering. I remember they took one to the TDC's. A driver from another company started to climb aboard, the tractor started to leaned to the left like it always did when you got in it, the air bags made that hissing sound and the driver bailed out. That was funny. We also had that old Dodge big rig in Santa Clara. It turned into a 4 wheeler. Someone changed the letters in front to read DOG which was appropriate.

We get p 297's and p298's pretty regular and we got 5 or 6 new 13 series trucks and I actually like that auto. Too bad it comes with all the alarms

PP, the only reason to hate the alarms is if you keep setting them off. Mine don't make any noise...I stay away from everything and everyone....

I have driven a new truck and it wouldn't shut up. I actually felt very distracted in it. And no I wasnt following to close I was at 4 seconds behind and it kept beeping. It beeped at every over pass and sign above the road.
