TForce | This company is a joke

I think its fair to want more than $150 a week, yes.

Don't you dare say anything about the union. That's a Teamster sin.

It's funny Wally is making this a union issue. I do believe your blaming the company here. And I didn't say anything the union. Hmm??

To be fair, I do have a serious issue with the union also....But this thread was about the COMPANY and their dumbass policies.

How can you support the union at this company the way that the contract is so blatantly violated?

Language about casuals working before full time employees, and language about subcontractors is very clear, but they completely ignore it and have been getting away with it for years.

The union already got their money, why should they care?

I'll have to take your word for that. I don't know what your contract says.

I can't deny that and I wouldn't even try to,..

However the only way the rank and file can see changes is from the bottom up,.....

If WE don't make noise at the local level, And if WE don't stand together WE will not see any changes,........

I feel it is our fault as WE at UPS Freight and UPS did not do a good job informing our brothers and sisters about the importance of returning their ballots in the last International Election,......Unfortunately WE are going to pay for that in the short go,.....However WE can change that in the long run,.,.....

The company is doing everything they can to divide us in the rank and file and they seem to be doing a good job of it,.......

Can WE change that???

Are WE willing to take the stand to change things???

I guess only time will tell,.......

Who doesn't? ABF has plenty of issues that hurt the company too. And we also have employees sitting, not working much,

I love competition in business. With that said, I also like seeing other companies doing good, and working all their employees 40 plus hours.

I agree...

We definitely need a contract with stronger language.
I'm not sure who they choose to negotiate, possibly some very strong Stewards to help negotiate the next contract and gear it for the newbies and everyday worker with years and years left until retirement. This has to be transparent for all of us to be in the know.
Not some BA telling us in our first vote, "It's a good contract just vote" and later on recanting....."Well it's not the best contract but it's a first contract" They got members now, they need to step up.

This next contract also has to be proofread with all the different scenarios taken into account. (Hence using strong stewards)
We don't need half the contract talking about drug testing.
We all know we are randomly tested and know the consequences. You test positive you lose, go into the EAP program. Test positive again, your out.
No more contract paper filling fluff.

I know the only time ABF can use a contractor, is when we to deliver freight to an area we don't service.

Like our Fontana, Ca terminal do not service the outskirts of Barstow Ca. So we throw that to contractors to deliver.

But zero of our line haul is contracted out.

Why didn't the Teamsters put that same language in your contract?

The same thing can be said about every LTL company out there. If you think we are the only company with miss pick ups or damaged freight then you are sadly mistaken...
But you can bash the company that feeds you all you want. They can take it...

I'm not trying to bash the company. I'm just saying if someone misses just one pick up in the UPS Package division,Feeders or Package, someones a$$ will be in a sling and I guaranty it won't happen again or the management person involved will be out of a job. In the UPS Parsippany buildings they make thousands of pick ups every day Scheduled and on call . Missing even one of them is not tolerated period. If you think that UPS thinks it's just another LTL company then you are sadly mistaken. I realise that taking over a company and molding it to your standards doesn't happen overnight(no pun intended)but 6 years or 7 years is way out of charactor for them. They fed me well for 36 years.

If you don't like UPS, then go get another job.
UPS makes profits that is all that matters to UPS.

If you don't like the union then go get a non-union job.
UPS Teamsters are the highest paid in the industry, that is all that matters to the vast majority of UPS Teamsters.

Wow! How can you be so heartless?

Its not that I don't like UPS. I actually love my job. I enjoy peddling freight.

The only thing I don't like about UPS is the fact that they are letting the place be run into the ground by incompetent management.

I'll make this easy for you to understand.

If a man stands in the rain and complains that he is getting wet.
Then I would advise him to get out of the rain.

It is about common sense.

Those who complain have no one to blame but themselves.

Do something, act, make a move.

No my friend, you are wrong.

UPS is making very good profits with UPS Freight.

I would advise my fellow truckers to stop trying to run a company by critical analysis.

The way they run the company is bad for you, but it is good for the company.
