Yellow | Teamsters Endorse Obama 2012

The biggest problem for organized labor, public and private is Wisconsin. If Wisconsin reelects Walker June 5th, the show is over. He will make it a right to work state which will effect the whole country and every Republican held state will change to the same thing and in my opinion Romney will make it a right to work country if they hold the congress and senate. The Democrats are being outspent 25 to 1 in advertising and the latest poll says 39% of union households are going to vote for him AGAIN! I have no idea what they are thinking, Walker a sitting governor in the United States has a legal defense fund. Which so far he has spent over 250 thousand dollars so far and the meters running, he lied to the Senate and people still want to vote for him, I don't get it, and this will all start in less 3 weeks if he is reelected, If you live in Wisconsin you better think about your vote.

Why do you need to distort the facts here. Walker is going after PUBLIC sector unions only. And as I've pointed out previously, even prominent Democrats and Union leaders in the past have been against the concept of PUBLIC sector unions.

You can bet on one thing the ecomomy will get worse because the republicans will see to it . These big shots running these companies will hold back on hiring with the hopes of defeating Obama same thing with the gas . Remember Romney said he wanted General Motors and Chrysler to go bankrupt in front of a hall full of auto workers (talk about balls but then what would anyone expect from a guy that ties his dog to the roof of his station wagon for a 10 hr. ride no common sense) and that if he is elected he will take on the unions . With talk like that I am not going to jump out of the firing pan and into the fire . Obama is bad enough with some of the sh!t he's pulled .

At less the dog made the trip still alive, Obama would have eaten him for lunch half way through the trip.

Your right hes going after public unions now, if he is reelected mark my words he will make Wisconsin a right to work state which will effect private unions, hes not getting the money donated to his reelection because hes a good governor, hes last according the the bureau of labor statistics in job creation. He has done nothing for Wisconsin but attack the unions.

You know that for a fact or is that just your opinion? There's a big difference.

From what I've read, most people in Wisconsin seem to disagree with you about him being a good governor.

Mexican Trucks wasn't Obama's gig! That was a Bush idea, along with NAFTA. Obama was just left to deal with it. Don't worry, its failing.

Bush idea? W Bush was forced to allow the Mexican thru because it was already in NAFTA. Some NAFTA oversight panel sued and forced Bush's hand.
And that's exactly why Obama had to open up the boarder as well.

Couldn't agree with you more Baldy!! As if Walker and the GOP are only after public unions...what a joke triplex.. are you really that naive?? do you really think this is just about public sector unions..who , by the way have every right to organize and fight for the best contract they can get. Surely, your'e not serious man. who's distorting what? and.. did you give me your examples of how the GOP is labor's friend? I'm waiting for that..I gave YOU some examples..now it's your turn.. don't drink the FOX coolaid and don't listen to the talking heads who don't know what the heck a hard days work is. C'mon man... we need to act like Union members and show some solidarity and have some stones! Like Obama or not, you better pay attention to what's going on !

If they are successful in eliminating collective bargaining in the public sector then they will be crippling the Teamsters. Does everyone understand that we would lose tens of thousands of members over night. It would stop the Teamsters fastest growing sector. No this is a battle for our very survival.
The real blame is on the politicians because if you can't afford a raise then open the books and show the voters that at the present time a raise would not be affordable.
But they blame the unions for asking. I did not see where these same politicians took pay and benefit cuts. People need to look at the big picture before blaming the public workers. YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

You need to watch the clip of what the millionaire chick asked him & what his response was. & please don't say it was a gotcha moment. Ultra rich chicks say whatever they want & elected puppets like Walker say yes mam.

i live in a right to work state. With good union leaders there should be no problem to get members but when you have Bad union leaders they they can't serve. The biggest problem right now is we don't have many good union leaders so they need stuff like card check, because they can't get members any other way!

This Chicago Road driver knows better. I talk to too many people from Wisconsin, read a lot of different newspapers from Wisconsin.

I don't think its just a leadership problem. It's a membership problem. If our members were more educated, involved and outspoken, then the leadership would be forced to act right. Only a very small percentage speaks up, and when we/they do, were labeled trouble makers.

It's an unfortunate reality.

30 years ago my union hall would be standing room only. Now your lucky if 30 people show up and a lot of them are retired.

From the song Monster by Steppenwolf:

The spirit was freedom and justice
And its keepers seemed generous and kind
Its leaders were supposed to serve the country
But now they won't pay it no mind
Cause the people grew fat and got lazy
Now their vote is a meaningless joke
They babble about law and order
But it's all just an echo of what they've been told

It`s true that members don`t attend union meetings like they did 30 years ago for several reasons. Many members feel they don`t get the representation they need anymore from their representatives and don`t get to speak their piece at the meetings. I can`t remember how many times our agent would tell the members at these meetings "Be glad you have a job". No teamster wants to hear that when he has a problem he needs his agent to address. Years ago teamsters would take a day off so they could attend meetings, today they don`t want to miss a days work. many members would rather spend the day with their family than get aggravated at a union meeting. There was a lot more teamster pride 30 years ago than there is now. There still is teamster pride with a lot of members, but today something is missing for many. I wish we coulld go back to the days when an agent came into the terminal, started screaming at the terminal manager, beating his fists on the desk and solved problems right then and there, and if he couldn`t he could shut the terminal down right then. But those days are gone. If we could go back to those days,I think the union halls would be filled to capacity for the union meetings again.

from all in the family:
And you knew who you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man
Like Herbert Hoover again.

Didn't need no welfare state,
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old LaSalle ran great.
Those were the days.

Dont know why we endorse a President that snubs the very same people.that helped him gain office.a quote from the president of proctor and gamble."Mr.President i hardly know who you are and where you are really from""you scare me Mr.President"quotes from a letter written to Mr.President Obama
