It went well, I worked 60 hours, not used to that, its hard when I get to norman on the first trip, gotta wait, I hate waiting, Friday I didn't get out on my first trip till 0030, that put me back in Tulsa at 0730 with loads on the second trip 2.5 hrs late.

I wanted to stay on schedule this weekend for next week but I failed.

I got 7-8 hours sleep every day and was wide awake all night, I went to bed Friday morning at 1100, expecting to wake up around 1900 or so, I woke up at 1600 thinking I had to work then I remembered it was the weekend, I went back to sleep and woke up at 0800 this Saturday morning, what the hell!!

Now I gotta turn myself back around. All in all I like it. Its frustrating, the waiting, knowing I will be late on the 2nd trip.

21 hours of sleep!?!?

Yep, I guess my body was shocked from the turn around, I woke up @ 1600 and not again till 0800 this morning. This shuttle gig is really stressful, I know what its like to leave on a route late, now I'm the one bringing it in late, guys are mad, I think about it all the way back, I hate it.

Now you are the one the route drivers are crussing. Just kidding Buddy

Yea, they think we are the ones to blame, I'm trying to change that by comunicating with the route drivers, I always knew it wasn't their fault when I was on the route but our route guys have never done line haul or shuttle, they have no idea, I'm gonna change their thinking though, if its one of the few things I'm able to do, i will change that.

I know we got 4 shuttle drivers in our yard. 2 do pretty good the other two could care less. They dont load lock it right if at all. There has been mornings pallets laid over load locks laying on the floor.

I hear ya Bubba, we aren't allowed to take part, I wait for the green light and the door slam and thats all I'm allowed to do, I check the load and if its upright and the load numbers match, I'm gone. We don't have load locks, they strap our pallets.

Welcome to the gravy train GT

Its not so gravy, its mentally stressful, I worry, the other shuttle guys tell me not to, there is nothing I can do about it, but I feel the route drivers pain, I have been there, I forgot that the weather gets its worst at night :( I swear, my first week I had 4 nights of severe weather, nothing during the day, just at night!!!

BTW, I didn't take any of my breaks that I get per negotiated in our contract, I get 2 20 min breaks per 10 hr shift plus a 30 min lunch that I'm docked for, in 5 days I was on time one day, had I took my breaks and lunch I would have been so late it would have been pathetic, what am I to do?

Whats a break? Things will be fine GT. You have a good gig now. Now you have a retirement job you old fart lol
