TForce | Tell-A-Matics are they Good or Bad?

There good, only yo can get yourself in trouble with them, if your doing what your asked to do, be safe, take your time and get back to your "most important stop" you have nothing to worry about, if your taking shortcuts it will show, but remember you can't be disciplined solely from an electronic device.

I read somewhere that this has been waived and t.m.'s can and are giving paper, kinda like the union agreeing that you can not grieve write-ups.

??
since when is it against the rules to talk on your cell phone while driving
It's been a UPS policy since they bought Overnite that you were not to be on the phone,hand-held or hands free, whileyour vehicle is moving. Whether you are in a UPS truck or sales car does not matter. They want you to pull off the road, in a safe place, while you are on the phone. Also if you are in an accident that will also be the one of the first things the company safety man will ask, "Were you on the phone at the time of the accident?"

I have never heard this rule. Dispatch has called me many times while driving and have never said anything about it. Where is this rule written

We have had several PCMs on the subject of company cell phone policy. You should ask your TM about it and don't answer the phone when the dispatcher calls unless you are parked!

At Sysco mgmt follows us, then they call us, if we pick up its a 90 day suspension, how they do that IDK, they are governed by the same rules as us, no hand held or hands free at any time while in a moving vehicle, of course mgmt looks the other way if its important and benefits them, they only follow us and call for 2 reasons, they are trying to get rid of a driver or its an observation, then important goes out the window..crazy....We are getting our cameras in the trucks next week, I hope ya'll don't have to deal with that, its just another policy enforcement tool.

Common practice. We had a driver get called by the term mgr while he was in traffic and the dummy answered the phone. our steward had to do some talking to keep mhim from getting suspended, but he still got a write-up. Sales are expected to follow the same rules,No distracted driving. Oh, the TM was off duty and in his personal vehicle when he called the driver. How ironic.
