FedEx Freight | Unfair Raise

Maybe after he tells us all about how Fred lives he will tell us exactly how and where they met. I was at headquarters in Memphis for the day 9 years or so ago,and Fred was there but didnt have time to stop and see us. Not a judgement on him, just my experience.

Accuse him of lying? How do you get that from such an agreeable statement? Besides, who gives a crap if he met Fred. That doesn't mean he knows what kind of guy he is.

I met Bush Sr. once. I can't judge his character or lifestyle because of it.

Mutlycurr is showboating and I call bravo sierra.

I second the motion of calling bravo sierra.

Of course Motley is from old Viking terittory which isnt Memphis.

Yes, I did see his car on our tour, but dont remember what kind it was. It was in 2008 when I met him in Memphis, and I do remember many people in Memphis telling us how normal of a life he lives. And all the good he has done for that city. No I cant give individual stories of all his great deeds, as your right I am from the West. But yes it was great meeting him. Call it what you want. If you get the chance to do the tour, its incredible. Go to the Airport at like 11:00 pm, and watch how FedEx takes over the airport. Watch how hundreds of planes land and leave in a few hours. Watch how millions of pieces of frieght/envulopes get sorted and reloaded on planes. You will be in ahhh also.

You know what you meant by "Uh huh".
Seems like your just jumping him 'cause he likes his job.
I know your a disgruntled ex. And griping posts are your favorite.
But motley has a right to be opposite too.

So he posts he's happy, good for him!
That's no reason to say he's bs'n or change his name to "curr" or some silly crap like that.

I didnt get to see all that.I was in awe of the cafeteria, let alone all the other stuff!

Wasn't it amazing that a company (Viking)that was delivering freight on-time, making money ( since we used to get a monthly bonus) and had good moral was doing everything wrong. Now no matter where they cut cost the bonus just doesn't add up and moral does not exists.

If your not happy with your job or how much money you make at FXF You can quit and go some where else. Thats a pretty simple conceipt.
Learn some grammar and spelling and then get back to me. Until then, you're the simple concept.
The point being made is that something that was highly profitable, provided superior service, worked well, and most importantly wasn't broken, was fixed to provide none of the above. After years of bonuses that regularly reached $3600.00 per year, this great bonus is a bit disappointing.

I have never said I am special because I met the man, all I am saying is it puts a face to his name when you actually meet the guy. I am in awe of his story of how he built FedEx up to what it is today. Thanks all. Again, I dont think Jeff built this board so all disgruntled employees can just vent and rip on FedEx. Some have good issues they bring up, others just want to complain. I wanted to give my experience at FedEx. Let people who may be applying for a job, know that not all employees are unhappy here. Yes some are, some have bad management above them at their centers. But that doesnt mean as a whole, FedEx is bad. One bad supervisor can change your attitude about where you work. I get that, and I have had bad supervisors. But you know what, I have out stayed them. They will eventually get fired or transfered. I look at the company as a whole. I have been to many centers in the west, and when it was West, it seemed they all lived by different rules. Now that we are all freight, It seems to be way more standard. Other then I guess pay at different centers. Do I think a 30 cent raise is fair when others close got more? NO, but again 30 cents is better then zero. And we had that a few years ago. The pay raises will increase with the economy if it gets better. Hey lets make a profit in Freight for more than one year and lets see what happens next year. This is our first profit in what 4 years? It was tough times, and hopefully they are ending. Hopefully we get the bonus I have heard of...576 for 60,000.

We almost went belly up under Caliber, after a failed attempt to go nationwide. The west portion was always profitable which is why Fedex eventually bought us at the firesale. The bonuses we received under Fedex Freight West at that time were through the old Viking Program. There was a honeymoon period where they just left us alone to do what we did best, make money. Your selective memory is defective.

Motley, don't know where you're hanging out if you think: "I have been to many centers in the west, and when it was West, it seemed they all lived by different rules. Now that we are all freight, It seems to be way more standard". While I agree the old west had lots of fiefdoms, it's way worse under Harrison. Every yard I go to has wild and wacky rules they've made up to help their numbers. I can quote them chapter and verse from the workrules and they tell me to drop dead, as "we do it our way". Guess the facilities here in the southland are owned by Burger King evil twin brother who turned their slogan upside down.

All I am saying is, hey lets make money again first, before we criticize the current FedEx. Just like before, if we didnt have a great OR we didnt get a bonus under Viking or West either. So lets put a few good years together and see what it comes to. Thats all I am saying. I started with Viking in 1990, so I saw lots of change. Not all good. Change is always going to happen. When the economy is great, everything loosens up. When companies are struggling, everybody tightens their belts. Not many have loosened them up yet. Let time pass and we will talk about bonuses and raises again and see what happens. 96+ OR isnt great. Under 95 will pay a good bonus. So lets wait and see before we start getting criticle of FedEx.

I like the alliteration of Motley Mutt better. We keep talking about Fred S and FedEx Inc., the issue really is Pat R. et al and FedEx Freight. As long as numbers can be shown that Fred likes, Fred really doesn't give a rat's ass how they are arrived at. MM the last time we got wrapped in this nationwide thing it was a fiasco. Is this really much different? Oh, and congrats on your win whenever at the TDC dog and pony show. It explains a lot about your attitude.

1. Hows Yellow doing? .......
2. of the union due to all the lies,.......
3. Says the tension between management and drivers is horrible......
4. aren't you a 2 time National Champion.
5. and with more security .

I had to call ya on some things

1. I think they are fine. Seem to have fixed the problem (Zollars)

2. Unions are the only liars ? Gotta be truthful here. FedEx is always honest ?

3. No tension at FedEx ? LOL :)

4. Who cares ? Good deal !! Are you ?

5. Security is the one thing we have ..... Up until mergers / slow downs and change of operations. Just like everyone else.

I love a good anti union debate. This is weak bro. We are on the same sides but come on !!

So because I compete and win at the TDC (dog and pony show) somehow thats a bad thing? Wow, I do it because I enjoy competition, and to see how good I can do, and I enjoy the money and trip they give for winning. You get treated like royality when you go to Nationals. Try it before you knock it. I love the "what can you do for me" attitude. Its all about you! I know.

First thing, I was responding to the poster who thinks that going union will fix FedEx, and I was saying that no it wont, If anything it would get worse. Thats all.
I got nothing against unions, just dont want FedEx to go Union. I am glad they exist, as that helps our wages. I just dont get all the negativity by some posters...Its simple.....WHY DO YOU STAY IF YOU ARE SO MISERABLE? frickin quit....there will be many people putting in for your position......

I'm also on the same side as not wanting to go union.
Sure I have days I know this is the best job in the country...... But don't you have days that this is not worth it ? I know I do. I've been treated better at other jobs. I also get paid better here...
these are facts.
I'm not miserable I just understand how some people may think a union could be good for us. I'm actually very happy for the most part with where I am and what I'm doing.
I also "tried" :) my hand in the TDC in Kansas. I lost didn't even place :( was way nervous and screwed myself in the pre trip.
Congrats on going on if you did !! Being professional does not mean company ass kiss.

I totally agree with you, I have had bad days, but its not because of FedEx in general, its usually a Redshirt/Dispatcher who created the bad day or week. I just dont blame FedEx in general. Its people above you that can make or break your day/week. Then I usually come in the next day with a fresh attitude and see how my next day goes. Usually once Im in my truck doing my route, the day gets good. I enjoy my customers, and enjoy P&D. I just dont get caught up in all the drama of some drivers, some are never happy.
