FedEx Freight | Low Moral

well i guess I see it is all over the country, I thought it was just us at FAR , but then again if we knew about other places that would be communication, which we all know is non existant. Things have really gotten bad and it is getting ready to fall on its face. We have been thru 6 supv and 2 ccms in about 2 years and the third is on his way if he doesnt get his head out of his ars. every thing I have read on this post is the same crap up here, what the bucket is happening , the moral has gotten so low that even drivers have stopped helping each other, every one is like smoke is talking about just getting a check and going home , me included. I dont think jumping ship will help as if another company hasn,t already been bitten by the corporate bug they will be. CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!

I hate to be a 'stick in the mud' but just getting a check ain't cutting it.

Especially from an industry that demands professional expertise and perfection.

I spend at least a third of my day...five days a week performing the duties of my job. I am well compensated for my efforts.

This is not to say I am for sale.

I 'lease' my services to the company for an agreed upon price...it is called an offer of employment. And for the naysayers...you indeed have an agreement. Most states are 'employment at will' and said agreement can be terminated at any time by either party without notice or prejudice.

As far as being here for a 'check'?...I can get that anywhere.

It is the working conditions that make the difference...GuardRail discovered this awhile back...and moved on.:1036316054:

I don't give a damn about the 'promise' nor the 'first' mantra. I have been in this biz a long time (35 years)...too long I think. I am now quite jaded.

I am not interested in the rah rah rah...spare me please...it is insulting and insincere.

However I do require and demand an atmosphere of a 'sense of purpose'. A general mindset of everyone being on the same page in an environment of commonality.

"All for one and one for all."

If I am going to spend this amount of my life to further an endeavor...it damn well better meet my needs as well as expecting me to meet their needs.

I believe SS and I are on the same page with this....unfortunately the company is not.

Profit for the sake of profit...the 'people first' to be sacrificed are just collateral damage.

You are one hell of an articulate dude!

Morale is very low at my center. We have lost supervisors and OM. Vitran is buying our management. The RKI manager quit and came back to Indianapolis to run the Vitran terminal. He in turn has hired two of his buddies from us. We have lost 14 road drivers since the realignment was announced. I have a feeling that after were done bidding next week a few more guys will be quitting when they see just how bad they are going to have it on the new big. The funny thing is we cut all these runs and even before the bid starts we are using city drivers to run the road day and night. The city had to rebid so that they could be able to send drivers to the road. The company sure screwed the pooch on this one.

just wait untill all the management is in place at vitran then fedex will buy them and we will have all kinds of freight.......

I am not 100% sure of what you just said , but sounded profesional , I have only been in the biz 20 years but the one word i did recognize is jaded and I am I think there now. Unfortunatley I cant get the check I am getting anywere else (612 mile meet) unless I go to the oil fields and that aint happening. I live well below my means so I can retire early, so im just trying to hang in there and hope the top of my head does not blow off

I for one can say i am happy to be gone from that hell hole. i was rail roaded by a road driver who is a habitual liar and a racicist ccm. My stress level dropped after my leaving stressex and i am much happier now. i took a couple of months off ( on fedex's dime) and will re-enter the workforce this monday driving in the fuel industry. keep your eyes open because there is a lawsuit coming and my lawyer has said with the evidence i have ( which is a lot of pictures, documentation, voice and video recordings) that i will never have to work again. let see if they want to try to shut me up from going public because it will show that fedex is NOT the diversified company they claim to be..i will add though that i will miss most of the people i worked with because they were a great group of people to work with..

RC, you have to understand that when he was in grade school, he was given a trophy for coming in 32nd place out of 12 contestants. This was done so his "self esteem wouldn't be harmed" and as a result he's a damaged soul who has no idea how to cope with the real world and his place in it. If he walks into a convenience store and doesn't have enough cash for a candy bar, he cries like a baby until someone else ponies up the pennies....Then he walks out thinking he's a good person and that it's ok his parents named "Trevor Taylor Brittany Connor (add last name here)". <<<Wow, I'd have self esteem issues too!!!

ST aka Jethro.

Now that's funny

used to bust my a @@ and volunteer, and go the extra mile...when I first started here. That was 10 years now...rt @ the time they were goin from AF to FXF...now it's just a job. I go to work get my check, ( checking my check ), and go home. We do not have cook outs like alot of terminal's nor a lot of moral even amongst the older guy's. No one knows where they will be next week. And any time you ask a question it's all top secret. They don't care. But if you as a concerned employee have a comment not to there , Happy Happy Joy Joy, attitudes. YOU are pegged as a dis-engaged employee. So be it. I ain't got a freakin bolt or dime in it. WORK<PAY<HOME. period...sorry it has to be that way...and yes I am sure I will hear about it...:Rulz:

I did my time on the "patio" and if you think thats all a person has to be stressed about , thats part of the problem here as ST describe as an entitled mentality, everyone thinking they got it harder than the next guy, uh I kinda thought we were all get treated like **** , but there goes the conquer and divide. And ST you can put your lips right on the dark spot if you knew anything about me you would not believe how incrediably far off you are with that description .

Boy sure would like to know what makes your job so stressful. At my barn the stressful part of the job is trying to decide if you can afford to work here until the big strappers retire and some better paying runs open up.

600 miles in the North Dakota winters, no thanks, but they're always needing drivers so step up.

Matter of fact I know that most people wouldn't have the balls to do what transplant's done to earn his truckingboards handle so let's not be so quick to think he's got it easy.

My understanding of how you people east of the Rockies handle winter is....
you look at the weather and decide which motel and bar you want to stop at for the night.
And don't tell me I'm wrong, I've already seen the posts from drivers that pack their party clothes and book their room before they leave home.

who took CK's place?......that might answer a lot of your questions.
Good luck boys and best wishes......
