Why I like baseball

I've always loved baseball. Grew up an Angels fan. Lived and died with them for ever. I played baseball as a kid and coached softball as a Dad. At 53 years old, I now have a new idol, Mike Trout. One of my first idols as a kid was Mickey Mantle. I was too young to see Mantle play much. Now I have a chance to see him play in the form of Mike Trout. What a baseball player. I'm looking forward to many years of watching Mick/Mike play.

Baseball is a game of wits probably more than any other sport. Those who never played or coached baseball probably don't understand the game & overlook the moves made on the offense & defense. While watching the Little League World Series I thought how great it would be if the players from different countries could continue competing against each other in baseball for years ahead instead of fighting each other in a war a few years from now.

Speaking of Baseball. Meet my Grandson!

I bet the Tigers won that game.
Don't start Mud I have always liked you! lol And no they didn't. Remember at the start of the season we had the Tigers number. Since them everybody has had our number. I had rather see the Tigers win it than the White Sox. YOUR INDIANS LOVING BROTHER ALWAYS!

Remembering some of your past posts your grandson must be the young man on the right. You must be very proud of him.
Yes I am Mud. He is a great person(Takes after is Grandmother) lol. If you are ever coming to a Cleveland game let me know. YOUR BROTHER ALWAYS!

For a short while they had the lowset payroll and the best record in baseball. Hafner and Santana getting hurt was bad. Johnny Damon wasn't the spark we needed. Sizemore will never come back to form. Just another disappointing year.

Yeah Sizemore was the cheapest possible answer and he did not pan out.

A couple or 3 seasons ago it seemed like the sky was the limit for Grady.
My son spoke to him today and he feels really bad that he did not get to play this year. He really is a hard playing baseball player. I wish him Luck in whatever he does.

This long time Tiger fan listening to the game on XM radio in New Mexico, was hooping and hollering about that one.

First base Coach Indians Mike Saurbaugh was from my town. His HR stories by the locals made him into a legend to us kids. The town is known for its baseball.... Home of Bruce Suter.

I hope he gets the Head coaching job there one day in Cleveland.
