FedEx Freight | Union Vote

Yes and that would have been 2001/2002 somewhere in there. And yes I'm out of the Topeka traffic center OTR for Frito Lay
I was probably in Perry Ok maybe. Did we work together at Dugan ? I knew a bunch of guys from everywhere in LTL back then. Ya know back when guys ran a CB and ran together. Not like that anymore.
Hell I even remember American freight drivers stopping to get coffee with everyone !

It's a mix here on that union deal. It is a lot of work BUT I'm finally making Dugan money again.
I don't mind it at all. I'm getting along fine. I've been treated worse for sure.
Like you said. It's work !! But the pay is awesome.
I try to keep in touch with some of them old Dugan guys. Really miss the crew out of Nashville. Bam-bam, old buckshot, And dragginfly, milk dud. Real good bunch we had down there.

I will always respect and have a found spot in my heart for USF/YRCW. I spent 5 good years as a (pro-union) USF Dugan Linehaul driver out of KCY.
What you drivers at YRCW did should be an example to all drivers. Especially the back stabbing all about me guys.
Nice to see for once

I have the utmost respect for all Ltl drivers out the today. Union and non if anyone had been in this industry for more than twenty five years. Me I am 37 yrs you have seen the dramatic changes we are a country that does not manufactur any thing anymore that's why all the Ltl co. Went out if business we have the union to thank for the great wage we get today if they did not fight for higher wages we at FedEx would not be getting the money we get today . Yrc. Is here to stay I hope there is no doubt. Pension changes are coming lets hope it is all something everyone agrees upon. Nobody asked. Just. My opinion

Yeah old dragon fly last spoke to him on a Holland yard in Nashville,I heard he has had to leave trucking due to health.

That's horrible. If you see him again tell him old beerboy wishes the best for him. Great guy for sure !

Well we have been informed that our health insurance co-pays are rising more than 70%. I'm ready for a vote now are you?

WOW! You're kidding I hope. Even with all the faults of the union I'd safely say we will do a lot better than that. Not pushing the union on FedEx you guys will do what you want. However, You guys really don't have anyone on your side and are at the mercy of Fred...

You better do your homework all contracts vary. Up in New England cement drivers for aggregate industries pay 2.00 per hr for every hr worked no cap in this either. Wether you make fifty thou. Or 100 thou. U pay 2 per hour there aren't too many happy drivers there. They use to pay 75 a week but that was good for at least 6months of coverage. All I m saying is be careful what u wish for

and if you have a union. You are at the mercy of greedy SOB'S who care nothing for the membership. If FredEx offered the teamsters or any union enough money up front you would never see a union at FredEx. It doesn't matter, either way, what the employees want or don't want. They can double my ins rates. I'll happily pay them to keep the union out.

Chill Lee, there won't be a union at Fedex any sooner that they will be at Wal-Mart, your totally safe Brother! To be honest with you, I would wanna be miles away from Fedex if it was even considered.

Yeah if you plan on being mixer driver, you would negotiate in the freight division of the teamsters as a ltl driver there's a lot of difference

I am sure Freddy is very proud of you, keep up the good work.

As u know or maybe u don't. The freight contract covers who abf. Yrc. And a few others. Many have adenims or white paper contracts many mixer drivers are former freight drivers whose companies went out of business they had no choice to go there. They want to work and make money. Isn't that what we all want. To support our families

why is there a thread talking about the union in a non union forum?

IDK, Hugh Ass started it, Fedex guys are talking about it, 4 mods seem to think its ok, me NOT included, because I'm not fedex anymore. I figure Hugh Ass belongs to fedex and its ok if its an insider thing and not some Union guy like me starting it. :)

well grocery, we all have to work somewhere. I don't look down on union folks.I have friends in the union and everytime i see them i'm not looking at their uniform, i'm looking at the friend wearing it. I hope the union treats you well. If i can ever be of help to you grocerythrower, all you need is to ask.

No problem talking about the union amongst fedex drivers on TruckingBoards. Now if trolls that are union jump in then it becomes a debate amongst union verses nonunion and then the thread will be moved to the debate forum.

Used to be a rule that we had that no union talk whatsoever in a nonunion company forum BUT this issue comes up and guys want to air out their feelings about this and other issues that other coworkers feel. So we adjusted our rules to make this site about YOU the members.

We at TruckingBoards are always trying to make this site more gooder everyday for each and everyone of you :D
