Estes | Raises?

If I ever get in here at estes, I will definetly have to learn your system, it sounds very confusing to me. but then again the system I am under now is :horse****:.

If you hire in as an extraboard driver, you're in the linehaul category. All your time counts when you bid on a scheduled run. As far as the money, right now you'll start at .4675 per mile, and you'll increase .0125 every 6 months. Your increase on your third anniversary will be .0175. We also get an annual cost of living increase. Usually .0125.

Well I am pretty sure they have lost alot of drivers over the years because of the system they have, and they have good drivers that won't hire on with them because of it. I just do not see how anyone thinks this seniority system by Category is right, it was back when in the good ol days, but with all the shifting of freight between, bypasses, hubs, break bulks it just does not work, and is not fair to drivers wondering what the hell is next.

Not gonna happen. If you want to have company time count, there are other places to do it that way. Every day you wait to make the move is time you could have count somewhere. Go. Hurry. Before it's too late.

Go somewhere else and start on the bottom, make more money and give more to uncle Sam. Pay thousands on your 401 and get ½ of it back. Get a good retirement and retire early then starve to death. Damn, middle class sucks.

Word has it, we are getting raises and a bump on our 401k.
....and a bunch of new trucks... Should be getting a letter in the mail soon

According to my letter, all of what Mildew said is true, but they didn't say how much the raises will be. That is to be discussed with your terminal manager.

expect between 4 and 5 cents per mile. rob wants to make a statement to his friends in the trucking industry. he wants to set the standards.

Any raise would be more than I make now...Just left another LTL company 2 1/2 years ago that hasn't had a raise in 7 years.
Just hope the miles pick up soon. A raise is no good if your sitting at home. I'm a tues driver, and here it is thur...nothing yet.

Monday was my favorite..just got bumped back to tues about a month ago, when they cut some runs at 017. but tues is not bad when freight is up.

What's OD topping out at now? Something like 58?

Don't know but they got a 4.9% increase at the end of the summer according to overdrive mag. I believe they have a scale similar to ours based on which part of the country you live in. I think they are closer to .58 on the left side of the country and around what we get on the normal side. Lol
