At chicago heights /309, we get our bills at the gaurd shack when you drive out of the yard with your tractor/trailers, same when u drive in you give them up.

now i wanted to know if any where else they do this , before the merger we would get our bills at the dispatch window most the time or none at all. when i came from the long layoff we did this get your bills at the shack. here are some problems i have ....

if there are no bills at the shack they say we dont have no bills yet , ok noprob. (i dont know where they come from or why they are not there, dont known the process ok) you wait 5-7 minutes only one lanes so if there are people behind you you have to turn around by the abf entrance or somewhere else. (not the safest thing to do but ok). or the other thing they do is give you a summary of whats on there in a printed paper??? what ? how viable is this paper if i get pulled into a scale and they ask where your bills? ok want the bills i will have to print them all out go turn around?! what the hell.

my beef is , is there not a easier way to acomplish this? why not gimi my bills at the dispatch window everytime? i have been told that the people in there are union and thats work they dont want dispatchers doing?

i know for a fact alot of drivers say hell with it just give me the print out and go. it should be i have bills each and everytime i go . i have no problem with people working in the gaurd shack, but with this csa stuff now we should and gotta be better at doing this process. im not being a jerk but haveing bills everytime should be the norm. i know there are some of you here from chicago maybe you can enlighten me whats up with this or how we can make this the way it should be !

so how do you know if there is Haz-Mat?

Not true........Placs only for 1000lb or more on most Haz. I thought you HAD to have the bills to produce to Smokey if he pulled you over?
Good point.....so just act like theres none on the trailer. Who's gonna know?

I know its not Politically Correct to joke about H-Mat but I lost all respect for the rules that only apply once the trailer is on the street.....or when its OK to load pesticides on top of Baby Formula.

Walmart would refuse my load for having rubbing alcohol loaded with food.

City drivers at SCA/640, a few years back, at the end of the day, they use to have us drop our dr's & bol's in this trash can with a hole cut in the bottom of it, they had it sittin on a ladder, by the office and the billers would retrieve the bills periodically. Real high-tech. I went to the window one rainy day and they asked me for my bills, I told them they were in the trash can. Almost forgot to mention, the (dry) day before they wrote me up for not dropping them in the trash can. f*cking hilarious! I thought so anyway.

Make a good "Priceless" commercial. :ShakeHandsNah:

H/M loads need paper work plain and simple and the truck must have the proper placarding . I think one call to DOT and a little talk with the T/M from them will bring a little sanity back . Yellow/Roadway can't make up their own laws . B/4 I retired Yellow gave us our dr's in the drivers area by the dispatcher and on our way back at night we had a big envelope with the number of returns and the number of p/u bills with the truck number and yard or door location to the guard . Tell me this I have been gone for a few years now how does the consignee sign the d/r if ya don't have one or is YRC using the UPS compter clipboard type for signutures ?

The way 309 does the bills is not good. They do not put haz mat bills on top. You must look through all the bills yourself to find them. Sometimes the trailers are not placarded correctly. When you find a problem they could care less. Meanwhile the line builds behind you. :stirthepot:

as long as you get a loading manifest on whats in the trailer, its good enough, if it has hazmat you have to have hazmat paperwork on the top of bills...they try to tell you payreq is good enough cause it has trailer numbers and weight but it's toilet paper to wipe your self. i think it article 395 transportation freight with bill of lading is manditory.i use to be a shipper before i was a driver my drivers left my dock with a empty trailer they got a bill of lading stating 1 m/t trailer...

we do get the little dispatch paper if theres hazmat along with your dispatch. ok if theres has mat they will print out a stack of bills you still have to turn around or wait 10 minutes while people sit behind you!

i not a fan of that 8 x 11 white paper that is a summery of whats on your trailers i will investigate how legit this is when you get pulled over. thats what they give if there are (no bills and you dont have hazmat so i will give you this summary) .

why is it no other terminal that i can remember does this crap. i actually get a stack of real bills on the trailer a nice stack manifest with details if theres haz mat? every foriegn terminal does this witout a problem. At 309 chicago its a roll of the dice , maybe maybe not. plus if there any question of a problem it can be handled at dispatch not when you about to get on 394 and your co driver or you notice there a bill with hazmat but there was not supose to be any on there!! i have had several problems or questions wheni got bills where there was hazmat when there was not supose to be, also i check to see if there are any household good that the nice people in california want to know if there is any. i have got caught with that going from portland to sanbernadino. jagoff did not claim it and i almost got in trouble. bottom line bills should be at the window before we go out to the truck! its not working this way. sadly we will wait till someone gets busted real bad for not having bills or something then it will be like oooo ok lets do it this way now :duh:

im personally not likin it, ill ask some stewarts about it.

Chicago 309

If you work out of 309 Chicago, you get to see how YRC has no idea what the hell they are doing. And you have no faith that they will be open tomor .
