I am watching the Weather Channel this morning and it looks like a real mess for Monday thru Wednesday. This is supposed to effect Virginia, Jersey, New York, all of PA and Ohio. Power outages in all of the states listed including Ohio. Winds gusting in excess of 50 MPH. It is supposed to track into Jersey, Into Philly, Thru Harrisburg and into Pittsburgh. Thank goodness I don't live around there. I hope everyone in these areas take care of themselves and prepare. In my honest opinion I think Con-Way should suspend operations in all of these areas. I wouldn't want to try to pull doubles in these ares. They want to talk about safety. Lets see how committed they are to it. Mind you, they are expecting power outages all the way to Cleveland - Columbus - Cincinnati.

I'm out of terminal west of Chicago. We also got lake flood warning due to strong winds heading this easy. Lets sew how that affects xcg terminal.

My guess is that my barn, in Jersey, will stay open and then give people who can't make it a hard time, as usual.

my barn here in Va. is open tonight so inbound can break freight and load for P&D but I think other than that they are gonna close when we are finished. FedUp freight, Estes, R&L and Southeastern have already closed operations for today.

FedUp freight have already closed operations for today.
Citation needed. The barn I work at is right in the line of fire for Sandy. These guys preach safety at every meeting but would have no problem sending drivers out in a hurricane. "Way too many accidents out of our barn" What they really mean at the safety meetings is we have too many law suits from accidents and injuries.

Starting tonight Western PA and Ohio wind gusts of 80 MPH. I won't drive my pickup in 50 MPH gusts let alone a set of doubles. Anyone want to pull a set of empty's Tonight?

I see the Pa Pike has the commercial restrictions effective. No doubles, no box trucks, no empties, no passenger trailering, and no motorcyles. I believe It's just east of Carlisle on 76 and 476 right now but it will work west throughout the day.

It wont effect anything...they will run opperations as normal...There is a doubles and triples ban on the toll road BUT that is for double long boxes....IL,IN has nothing to worry about, the winds you are talking about are coming from the North straight down the lake...I wouldnt get to excited as this has nothing to do with us,the boys out East are the ones in harms way...Stay safe and Good luck to all them and their familys..

I hear ya, I had to pull my camper home this morning, only about 20 miles...whew, what a ride. Glad we're not running tonight
